Dragging windows/files can cause visual issues

Ah. You see, I run Firefox full screen. Nowhere to drag tabs to!

This just crept out of the recesses of my dusty brain:
We've had a few members who had the problem where the mouse cursor freezes on the screen anytime they use it near the corners of the display. The common cause was that their Windows settings for Display was for 2 monitors, even though they only had one. Windows thinks that the mouse has gone over to the second monitor and leaves the ghost behind. Changing the Display settings to show only one monitor solves that problem.

This makes me wonder: what if the fact that your 2 displays are different sizes (resolutions) was doing something similar? If you drag the image right through the center of the screen vs dragging it through near the top or the bottom.

You might give that a test.

The way i have my screens set up is so that my mouse will move flush along the top of the screen and the area of differing sizes is at the bottom. The difference in pixels is about the same height as the start bar. If i move my mouse along the bottom edge of the screen it will just stop when it reaches the bottom corner and wont go any further until i lift it up into the range of the other monitor.

The area where it doesn't fit quite right is represented by the black bar at the bottom right side of the image (in first post), this is where no screen exists.

So as far as i can tell from testing just now, makes no difference.

Yes, i switched it back to the stock light blue windows one, didn't help anything. As i said earlier i think the firefox issue is caused by my use of opera mail. As soon as the firefox tab is moved over the opera mail window it stops in its tracks. Doesn't explain the windows issue but i wont be able to try anything to fix that one until it next happens.
