Driver Genius Program

I installed this earlier and the program wont run - I get error message 'ru-board.com is missing'
also during installing I get another error message - 'unable to locate DLL/OCX:Regsvr32 with exit code 0x3

Any Ideas?

Did you run the setup as administrator? The Regsvr32 is a regservice command, usually for registering DLL/OCX. If you didn't give the setup administrator priviledges, it might not have been able to register the DLLs/OCXs, I would recommend right clicking the setup, going to properties, if there is an UNBLOCK button, click it. After that, right click the setup and choose "Run as administrator"

Hi there ... Are you having problems with your Drivers ? .. If your Computer is working well no Updates of Drivers are necessary .. IMO such Software which you are trying to Install can only cause problems

Just uninstalled it and tried that, no joy unfortunately

What is your driver problem? As Maxie asked, we might be able to help you out without the need of using that program, which might end up screwing things up even more.

No prific problem - it just makes it easier to locate and download drivers that's all

Personally I prefer to know the details of my system and manage drivers myself, that way you're always in control. Hope you get your problem sorted though mate.

First of all, try downloading the ocx from Here and putting it in the same folder where you installed DriverGenius. If it does not work, I will walk you through registering the ocx manually.

Just tried that brreaker - no luck

Put the ocx in a folder, for this purpose I will use a folder called C:\OCX\ where we place AlphaImageControl.ocx
click on the start button, then type in search "cmd" without the quotes. Right click cmd and run as administrator.
After that, execute this command
Regsvr32 /s c:\OCX\AlphaImageControl.ocx

Programs like Driver Genius are pure snake oil. Their sole purpose is to separate you from your $$. Don't waste your time ( or money ).

ru-board.com is a development and troubleshooting forum, I went on it myself. I have no idea why it tries to put it in the program, and it seems highly suspicious to me, to be honest.
