My laptop just started crashing a few days ago. So far it has crashed about three times (but I've been trying to avoid it by working on safe mode w/ networking). It worked fine on safe mode with and without networking.

I don't think I downloaded any new program right before it started happening. I also ran a virus scan on my computer that revealed no problems.

The crashes usually happen after I've been on the internet for a while, although it also happened once while I was working on Word without any internet connection. The sign that forewarns a crash is when I submit a command (such as closing Word) and it becomes unresponsive.

The crash screen says that there is a Driver_power_state_failure with a STOP: 0x0000009F (0x000000000000003,0xFFFFFA800498C050, 0xFFFFF800045A34D8, 0xFFFFFA80042FC8CO)

Thanks for any help you can give. I'm really glad I found this site.

Get rid of intel rapid storage. First uninstall it from Control Panel > Programs and Features. Then Uninstall the driver from device manager.

  1. Right click on "my computer" icon and click "manage" on the context menu.
  2. It will open the "computer management" window.
  3. Select "Device Manager" in the left pane, It will list all the existing devices up.
  4. Expand "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers" by clicking on the triangle in front of it.
  5. Select one Intel device item under it, right click, uninstall.
  6. Continue the process for all Intel items under "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers"
  7. Now restart the computer. At restart, windows will auto configure the appropriate native system driver.
And, Uninstall Buffalo Turbo PC Ex.

Let us know the results.
