Driver to connect to wireless network

Okay Fair enough, so lets start from the begining, New Computer, everything but the network driver installed...
Can you access the network connections from the control panel?
the path is "Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections"
Do you see any Connections There?

Im sitting on my lappy which has the wireles net and the stationary which doesnt. SIW is installed on both so tell me what info u need from which and il try to find it.

Would be nice if u sold me what specific info u needed because when i look up Motherboard for example i get like:

Manufacturer
Model Version
serial number
North bridge
South bridge
Cpu
Cpu socket
System slots
......

So if u tell me what u needed it would be great

I dont see any Wireless network connections. It will show if i put a cable in there tho, ive tried that

Okay from SIW you are after the Hardware/Network Adapters and show us the list of what you have,
and if it shows from a cable have you tried hardwire to your router from your Desktop?

right can you connect to the router with a LAN cable as it appears your wireless adapter is not there OR has not been installed

Well you need the internet on the Desktop to find the drivers, and this sounds like your Piggybacking off of your neighbours connection?

How are you trying to connect to the internet with the desktop Pc?

well me and my moms temporary living here so my mom and him made a deal about sharing the costs of his wireless one and im trying to connect to it on my desktop pc

i can prob ask him to let me bring my pc over and cable it in if its needed

not using any plugins atm, i thought both of them had built in adapters but i guess only my lappy did.

Yeah your Desktop Only Has a Built in LAN Adapter which is what SIW was showing you, and Your Laptop Obviously Has One so if you really want the internet on your desktop Pc there are two ways, Buy yourself a Wireless adapter or Use your Laptop as an Access Point though the First is a much Better option.

Thx for the help, so if i buy a wireless adapter i can plug it into my comp and it can take up the net? or will i have to install something by connection to the modem by a cable.

You will Be able to plug it straight in and install the software that comes with it, connect to the network and your then sorted without the need for HardWire... although you may need to Download up to date drivers so you should keep your laptop on hand.

When your looking for an adapter make sure it has the Windows 7 Certified stamp to stop any problems occuring...
