I have a Mother Board : ASUS A7V600. Since I changed from XP to Win 7 I have no sound.
I've tried the "Realtek sound driver" with several modifications but nothing changed. I only have sound comming out from the "sound test"....

I also tried to re-install my previous driver "SoundMAX Audio Driver version 5.12.01.3620 WHQL driver for Windows 98SE,ME,2000,XP" but the system does not allow any execution from this driver...

ANY IDEAS ?

ps: It seems that A7V600 it's not supported by Win7. Should i go back to WIN_XP?

thanx

Checking the manual on the A7V600, I see that it has an ADI AD1980 sound chip. I don't know that Realtek drivers would be helpful with that.

I see that it's an old SocketA board. (Latest BIOS update: 2005.) You may be able to find all the drivers that you need, but as updates for it basically ended before Vista came on the market, it may be a better XP system.

Hi All,

Thanks for your quick reply. Actually, after posting my message I retried installing my previous driver "SoundMax" from XP and oddly it seems to be working now...
By the way, I didn't use the compatibility mode, it just made a recomendation when installing. I guess Win7 did it automatically...

The 2nd problem is that I'm facing a kind of "BlueScreen" crash sometimes...This happens everytime I'm into Internet. I noticed some people are facing this kind of problem. I've already deselected several checkboxes for the ADD-IN's but not much improvement.

This is known as a BSoD.

Please start a new thread in the crashing and Debugging section following the guide at http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-debugging/96879-blue-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html.

This way an expert in BSoDs can help to fix your problems.

I'm glad it's at least kind of working though ;).

Oli
