Solved Drivers laptop Killer Wireless-AC 1550 & USB 3 - Windows 7 64Bit Helps

Hi Vineet Garg,

I extracted everything from the Wireless Killer 1550 and finally inside there are the Drivers for Windows 7 64bit.

I attached the picture.

Insidede the folder there are some subfolder with also a lot of .bin files (was too long to share to you each of the contents inside of the last folders, anyhow if you try to extract it you will see) as well and the unique Metodh that is working it's only the command Setup.exe -a -p C:\NEW !!!! All the rest - WinRAR, 7ZIP, Universal Extractor, from temporary folder and the CMD ....-extract C:\NEW.. all of them cannot catch any files from . Only 7Zip get some .icons file and few uknow files; anyhow seems I got everything from the command Setup.exe -a -p C:\NEW

Hi Vineet Garg,

So, I was going to jump over to a passage from you, about SetupChipset.exe to extract it.

Vineet Garg : 6) Just to mention
(a) The command SetupChipset.exe -extract C:\NEW was to extract Chipset driver.

Cris: So I extracted everything, and in this file are working only the CMDSetupChipset.exe -extract C:\NEW and the Temp file Metodh (''C:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\Temp\'').

All te rest - CMD Setup.exe -a -p C:\NEW, WinRAR, 7ZIP, Universal Extractor doesn't work.

Vineet Garg :(b) LessMSI is actually a dedicated .msi package extractor. It succeeded with .msi files extraction where 7-zip & WinRAR failed. So, i extracted the installer with 7-zip & got .msi files & then extracted .msi with LessMSI.
Cris: Example, for this exe Chipset file, doesn't extract anything.

Hi Cris,
One by one!

1) Honestly, I don't know much about .sys & .dll. Reading .inffiles always came helpful dealing with drivers. It's more of a practical thing.
Actually, one can simply double click any .inf files to read them & it will not make any changes. Not all the .inf files are driver oriented but they can be always double clicked without any danger. It's not a text file but it will open as a text file. It tells about the supported hardwares/devices & OSs. A driver oriented .inf file will always have one or more 'Hardware IDs' in the text depending on the devices supported.
The driver mod is actually done to .inf files by inserting/adding support sections for desired devices & OS in the text matter. The drivers largely work around them.
Warning :
Don't change an .inf file in the process of going/reading through them!
Don't do anything with them except just double clicking to read them without any change/danger!

For eg : The driver you have downloaded & extracted from Killer website, supports the particular wireless card only against win 10 ( See the '11ACW2' in win10 & examine 'Netwtw06.inf' )
But is easiest to mod for win7.

2. I asked you Advanced View from Disk Management from within win7 & win10 but i think you missed that. It will enable me to tell you all about UEFI, GPT, MBR,Nvme on your system.
Go to the Disk Management window & from the top menu bar, click 'View > TOP > Disk List' & take snaps. Just have a look where you have to start : The 'VIEW' is marked with yellow circle :

Disk Management Capture.JPG

( I saw your earlier mentions & there were mistakes. The biggest was dropping Rufus! )

3. Another questions are : The two questions are different!

(a)Did you disable FAST BOOT in Bios ? You should do that for win 7.

(b)Did you disabled 'Fast Startup' from within windows 10 ? You should do that also for win7.
( Turn On or Off Fast Startup in Windows 10 | Tutorials )

4. I extracted the 'Killer Performance Driver Suite.msi' from the wireless driver by 'Temp' method & then extracted it with LessMSI.
( You are doing it with those commands with every other 'Setup.exe'. Different utilities/makers make them differently. Its not a standard commmand & it is utility/app specific. Its pure experimentation. Always make a system restore point before that. )

5. Just for clarification : LessMSI can only extract .msi files/packages. The files with extension .msi not .exe, It's very important!

6. Your chipset drivers ? You are having 8th gen/ coffelake processor so should be coffelake!
( Tell surely after some time )

7. So, for your USB ports :
(a) I was thinking about & You were right. Intel chipset Overall improved your USB ports but a proper driver will do the rest.
(b) Where you got 'Intel turboboost technology' program ? It came with Thunderbolt driver ? It should be installed only after the USB driver.( That was in your installed programs list )
(c) For your non working USB ports, 'Realtek Card Reader' driver listed under win 10, is fully supporting win7.
So, get rid of the installed 'Realtek PCI-E Card Reader' driver. Go to the Device Manager & Uninstall Realtek PCI-E Card Reader. If you are given the box to 'delete the driver' during uninstallation, go for it. After uninstallation, restart the pc, go to the Device Manager & look for Realtek PCI-E Card Reader device. If it comes back, repeat it for 2-3 times. Once it stops coming back, Install that driver by simply launching 'setup.exe' from the extracted folder.

Let me know.

Thanks & Regards. ...

Hi Vineet Garg,

on your point 1), thank you very much for your short breath about those files, was just to know for expand my "know how" on these extensions for my personal knowledge :-).

Vineet Garg :For eg : The driver you have downloaded & extracted from Killer website, supports the particular wireless card only against win 10 ( See the '11ACW2' in win10 & examine 'Netwtw06.inf' )
But is easiest to mod for win7.
Cris: Got your WARNINg and thanks for this great news, I hope to see this soon...

Vineet Garg :2.

Attachment 406630

( I saw your earlier mentions & there were mistakes. The biggest was dropping Rufus! ) Cris: If you have better way, you are welcome :-), because I useed Rufus as the easiest waythis time. Please, share your way if I mistake.

Cris:Excuse me Vineet, I totally didn't get you, I thought you asked me the same screen shoot that I already provided you some times. In this messagge I attached you your request from both OS.

Vineet Garg :3.

Cris: Yes, I did it from the beginning to disable FAST BOOT in Bios. And, yes I did it from the beginning to disable 'Fast Startup' from windows 10, because gave me some problem with Windows 10 , and I already saw that with Windows 7 was some conflict; so no worries I already did this.

Vineet Garg :

Cris: Yes, in fact I forgot to tell you that i extracted the file in the same way with LessMSI, anyhow thank you for clarify this because I thought I can extract the files also from .exe extensions.

Vineet Garg : 6. Your chipset drivers ? You are having 8th gen/ coffelake processor so should be coffelake!( Tell surely after some time )
Cris: Thank you, was just to be 1000 % sure on it

Vineet Garg :

7. So, for your USB ports :
(a) I was thinking about & You were right. Intel chipset Overall improved your USB ports but a proper driver will do the rest.
Cris: How we can let it work? We

(b) Where you got 'Intel turboboost technology' program ? It came with Thunderbolt driver ? It should be installed only after the USB driver.( That was in your installed programs list )

Cris: Well, Vineet Garg honestly I don't remember where I took those drivers, if I downloaded both of the drivers but modded from some Forum (like tha one that last time I shared with you the link), for sure that they are not from my original Windows 10. As I said, I believe that once we will finish all of these test/staff I think you need to clear my mind how to remake the Windows 7 iso from the original Drivers that we extracted... because I have bunch of extensions but I'm not sure how to use them (except the ,sys files that needs to be injected)

Cris: This I know, because in fact I installed from the beginning from the original drivers and are fully compatible, but anyway even if not necessary I made the steps that you requested me and Installed again. I followed exactly your steps, and anyhow the Sd are working well as the same like before.

Thank you ,
Cris

Hi Cris,
Greets,
I feel there is some communication gap. I am not able to make out how far you have taken it! Please let me know, so that i can help accordingly. What are the problems/issues that are still to be taken in account ?

2.
(a) As we see in the disk management, all the four hard disks are in GPT partition style. I think you mentioned that you went for MBR in Rufus. I need to know about the three selected items 'Partition Scheme', 'Target System' & 'File System'.
You went for UEFI CSM in Bios & now ?
If the installation media is written well on the pen drive, The non detection of NVMe drives is due to drivers.
(b) NVMe & SATA are just different storage controllers. You mentioned earlier that you changed SATA section in bios. I am interested if there is a NVMe section as well Because the laptop originally came with 2 NVMe drives ?
(c) Get me storage controllers Names & Harware IDs from win10. Go to Device Manager & look under IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers & Storage controllers. ( The IDE section is for SATA Disk & Storage Controller should list NVMe controllers )

6. Chipset Drivers :
We can make it sure. We would go through 'CoffeelakeSystem.inf' file. We would look for supported devices' Hardware IDs.( There are 12 devices under this file)
Then compare them with Intel items in DevManView. ( DevManView listings can be sorted out easily to look into all the Intel devices at once. DevManView lists hardware IDs under Device Instance ID )
To narrow down your search : Not to look into Intel SATA, Audio, USB controllers,IMEI,Graphics. Look only for devices that has Device ID/Hardware ID as 'PCI\VEN_8086..........'
So, what are the other Intel devices that are not included in the CoffeelakeSystem.inf ?
Better we do it on win10.

7 USB ports :
(a) I have lost any hope to get them to work in this installation because the Chipset & the Realtek driver is supported 1000%. Some bad drivers/software components are doing all the damage.
(b) Do you have 'Intel Turboboost' in win10 'Installed Programs'. If its not there, the utility is not supported on your pc. It is not listed even in the support page 'Utility' section.
I am not sure but someone told me that there is section in his BIOS for controlling that functionality & he disabled it there to get rid of USB ports problem.
Actually, It's a CPU component & only a damage if it is not supported. Uninstall it & try installing Realtek driver again to see whether USB ports come into action!

I feel there are still some sections to be tested/mentioned about & we should not jump over it to ISO preparation. What do you think ?

Let me know.

Thanks & Regards. ...

(c) We missed that 'Intel USB 3.0/3.1 Extensible Host Controller' is not installed! Without that Realtek USB Hub will not work.

Hi Vineet Garg,

I'm back, sorry but I was fighting with my laptop are happened some things; and now I have new things to share with you. Last time, I did block a lot of "telemetry" and other behind services from Windows 10, I had some problems on the professional software to let it work for my job...So, I got some problems, related to the professional services and server connections that I cannot did them to communicate....Anyhow, exasperatedly from this, before yesterday I decided to erase Windows 10 and restart with a clean Win10 installation from 0 and put back everything again. You know what I discovered?!?!?! The problem of the NVMe disappear from bios are not related to Windows 7!!!!! I cannot even install WIN 10!!! And I started to study on that and get inform around... Again, you know what I discovered, that all the laptops have these problems by NVMe build-in, all the people are fighting with that, and even company like a DELL gives to them clients the solutions how to go around of this problem. It seems because of SATA technology, the bios to read the HDD/SSD it's more older and mature technology as we everyone knows, and the bios even if they are certified to the compatibly from the NVMe from Samsung or the general M.2, these has always some problems and one of these problems are that disappear the NVMe/M. 2 from the Bios like you removed the hard driver physically (by hands), and the bios for somehow" always gives the priority to the normal SATA HDD... In fact few months ago, I talked with a shop assistant guy and I listen some case in front of me, with my ears, that the clients has many problems in boot and companies example like HP, SONY and so on they knows perfectly about those problems that WINDOWS 10 has, and with an official communications tell to the shops (without to say it officially to the clients/market) to send back the laptop to repair in them official shops repair authorized. Now, if Microsoft has some special agreements with those companies (for sure) I don't know, because Microsoft has to push this change to WIN 10 aggressively, so and the companies take them product back and "shut-up". Has to my understanding the companies have to construct the bios on the base of windows 10 technologies (not well mature, a case example of NVMe). But the thing that I cannot understand, it is, why the company laptop still to construct the Laptop bios on the base of Legacy look (that in fact in Legacy mode it's the unique way that appear all the components inside the bios) instead of in UEFI look, that it seems always a hybrid bios way. It gives me the sense, that in UEFI mode doesn't work fully because in some way the Bios have to hide the HDD SATA, otherwise doesn't work well the NVMe in the OS installation process but this has the risk to hiding the own NVMe by them self, and in Legacy mode the bios can see everything but with the new OS cannot work. Even in UEFI mode with CSM has this problem of hiding the NVMe. Or maybe the problems are the Laptop Brands that still not to put the Bios in fully UEFI look. Anyhow, to go back to our topic, yes was some miss communication between us because I was sure that you can mod the drivers, but don’t worry it’s okay because you are helping me a lot any way. Now, to install back windows 10 (before in extreme way I was going to decide to open the Laptop) the unique way to install windows 10 and to let appear all the NVMe to the bios, was be to erase Windows 7 and Linux otherwise the NVMe wasn’t a way to let them to appear again in the bios. Otherwise don't allowed me to Install Windows 10. So, now I installed back Windows 10 in Samsung 970 PRO and I have the 2 NVme empties. I would like to say to make an iso Windows 7 and inject all the drivers from the original drivers of windows 10, of course I will inject all the extracted Windows 7 version. At least we know the final answer, if it is possible to let Windows 7 fully work or not.... Because all the .iso that I installed before, the iso was just a lot of injected piece of drivers adapted from other hardware systems.

What do you think?

To replay about the Turbo Boost and why I installed, it's because the CPU 8750H has the Turbo Boost 2.0 and I think I took the Turbo Boost from a modded CoffeLake driver, but in fact I checked inside the Windows 10 folders, and there is not Turbo Boost installed from the Official drivers MSI. But If you can see they don't have even the Intel Graphic Card integrated drivers, I don't know why, it is because probably MSI doesn't want make some conflict and make the system more stability? Because the Turbo boost push all the CPU to 3.9 Ghz and this is working by default, and with the Turbo Boost 2.0 should push 2 CPU in 4.1 Ghz when necessary (but I never saw it or I never got a chance to see this).

For the rest, first I need to reinstall Windows 7 again, so before I make it please let me know if you want me to do something else.

Cris

Hi Cris,
Good Stuff, But I am still hopeful!

1. I would insist that first of all you should try to answer the questions from my last two posts. I am quite sure it will change the things largely.

2. Now a new request to add 2 Disk Management views from win10 : Standard & Advanced.

3. I would suggest to consider integrating all the windows updates in the ISO & other things in one go. I would describe many micros & macros tomorrow. Till then just evaluate the three links & have a good idea about those things.

(a) Update your Win 7 installation media.

( I have asked sir SIW2 about two of my concerns in your case & waiting for the answer. It is easiest to do with his app )

(b) If you want better control over windows updates & others, you should consider NTLite :

Create An Integrated Up To Date Windows 7 Install Disc • Raymond.CC
&
Forum - [Guide] Integration of drivers into a Win7/8/10 image

( If you use WUD to download windows updates, download one by one! It's problematic if you try to download multiple updates in one go but still it is good.
As for NTLite, It can do many things but concentrate on integrating updates & drivers. NTlite does it all with .inf files. As long as you are correct & watchful, you won't get in problem! )

Let me know.

Thanks & Regards. ...

Hi Vineet Garg,

really nice new things to study for me, thank you very much, let me go through to all your posts and I try to study those new things for me (even if Nlite I knew this but I never went deep on it), I need some time, in the mean time you can continue from your side I go back to you, on one by one of the listed things to don't let you feel that I jumped your posts :)

Hi Vineet Garg,

ere we go to all your questions in the previous posts:

Hi Cris,
Greets,

CRIS:
About this I already replied to you, and I was thinking that the boot problems was the way of how I did Windows 7 iso inside the USB boot, but in the end I discovered that even with Windows 10 I got the same problems of the installation processes as Windows 7; so in the end, it is a limitation of the BIOS from the Laptop that created the errors and abortions installations. This, it’s related to the problems that last time I said to you; as you can remember about this few days ago I sent you by WeTransfer the file scheme of Windows 7 Installation errors problems. Once starting to coping the files system into the NVMe, and then I have to reset the installation, and use Lazersoft once I copied everything.... Anyhow, the problem are not the drivers of the NVMe or related to some iso corruption when I created the Boot USB Installation; but it is a problem of unmatching showing of Mounted "Hard Disk'' From the Bios to the OS installation, which means that in the Bios doesn't appear the NVMe but, in the installation, it is forced because anyway the Drivers of the NVMe are injected and can show the mounted drivers in the Laptop. So, to obtain this problem the unique way (for now) it’s to or to erase all the Installations of any OS in all each NVMe or to detach physically and make a clean installation with build in NVMe separately but as I said this will be too risky for me because I have the Laptop assurance that I will be interrupted…

(a) As we see in the disk management, all the four hard disks are in GPT partition style. I think you mentioned that you went for MBR in Rufus. I need to know about the three selected items 'Partition Scheme', 'Target System' & 'File System'.
CRIS:

No, I think we got some lack of communication here, my problem was the disappear of the NVMe, but now I understand that I made everything correctly and the problem is related to another thing (BIOS) as I explained on the TOP.

You went for UEFI CSM in Bios & now?
If the installation media is written well on the pen drive, The non detection of NVMe drives is due to drivers.

CRIS:
To start Windows 7 the unique way it is to select UEFI with CSM in the BIOS, otherwise if I select only in UEFI mode before boot the Windows 7 (after the MSI logo) comes out the Black screen to say that it’s impossible to continue the booting, so as I know windows 7 doesn't boot in fully UEFI mode (if you know it, you are welcome to share); and LEGACY mode Windows 7 doesn’t start as you know because I made the installation for GPT compatible in UEFI mode and not in LEGACY. Otherwise if I select Legacy (except that I have to make different preparation of the USB boot) I have to switch every time the BIOS mode if I want run or WIN10/ WIN7.

(b) NVMe & SATA are just different storage controllers. You mentioned earlier that you changed SATA section in bios. I am interested if there is a NVMe section as well Because the laptop originally came with 2 NVMe drives ?
CRIS:
There is 1 SATA connection for 1TB HDD-HGST driver (for luck) and this is the “problem” if you can say… NVMe and SATA it is strange marriage for the Laptop (as I said in my previous post, I believe that the problems are the Laptop Manufactures in general that still not pass in fully UEFI BIOS, and such hybrid BIOS that the manufactures still to make makes can create only the confusing in the boot sections).

(c) Get me storage controllers Names & Harware IDs from win10. Go to Device Manager & look under IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers & Storage controllers. ( The IDE section is for SATA Disk & Storage Controller should list NVMe controllers )
CRIS:

Yes I attached the pic for you.

CRIS:

I checked with DevManView, and saved for you the report in .html by WeTranfer related to all the ID/ Hardware 'PCI\VEN_8086..........
Here the link to download the report in html: https://we.tl/t-ZBcIaNGehR

7 USB ports :
(a) I have lost any hope to get them to work in this installation because the Chipset & the Realtek driver is supported 1000%. Some bad drivers/software components are doing all the damage.
CRIS:
Still wish on that :-), because I believe in your skill and also, I believe that the last chance for us it’s to do a right Windows 7.iso, cleaned installation, with the right drivers instead of to inject a lot of thing as I did. And let’s see what happens. Probably a lot of drivers similar and modded, made some conflict somewhere… Now I erased everything, so, I cannot check for you anymore in windows 7 but from all the info that we got from we can construct a right iso on that.

(b) Do you have 'Intel Turboboost' in win10 'Installed Programs'. If its not there, the utility is not supported on your pc. It is not listed even in the support page 'Utility' section.
CRIS:
Not, as I said in my previous post, and I cannot understand why, because the CPU it’s Turbo Boost technology and as I said MSI in the official drivers they doesn’t included the Intel Graphic card integrated in this CPU….

I am not sure but someone told me that there is section in his BIOS for controlling that functionality & he disabled it there to get rid of USB ports problem. About the Turbo Boost cannot be disable
Actually, It's a CPU component & only a damage if it is not supported.
Uninstall it & try installing Realtek driver again to see whether USB ports come into action!
CRIS:
I don’t think that I can disable the Turbo Boost technology as you said but anyhow, I found a Voice in the bios that control the double speed step of the CPU in two components (as the BIOS explain on the right side), I think, this can disable the second step of the Turbo Boost that lift up the CPU to 4.1 GHz in 2 cores, but this should keep the first step Turbo Boost CPU that lift up all the cores to 3.9 GHz. Anyhow I never touched this.

I feel there are still some sections to be tested/mentioned about & we should not jump over it to ISO preparation. What do you think ?
CRIS:
I think we have already many info, we should just try the iso step once we feel ready with the drivers. Also, because I don’t have any more the Windows 7 OS in my Laptop as I explained on the TOP/ above.

Let me know.

To be cont.d ...

Hopes for USB ports up!
(c) We missed that 'Intel USB 3.0/3.1 Extensible Host Controller' is not installed! Without that Realtek USB Hub will not work.
CRIS:
About the Extensible Host Controller 3.0/3.1, not sure about, because I did but the Thunderbolt hub USB 3.0 somewhere I already saw in Windows 7 that is installed. To me seems a lot of drivers injected as I said that made some conflicted

USB 3.1 Type C ( Thunderbolt ) is working all well ?
CRIS:
Thankfully for the Thunderbolt Tybe C I can let work the usb HUBS, so Thunderbolt/ USB 3.1 is working perfectly even the driver that I injected.

So,
Tomorrow I will search for a compatible driver for the above device.
I would like to have a look at USB section from win7 & win10 Device Manager.

Let me know.

So, now I will go through to your Nlite software post, iso and so on.....
Thank you,
Cris

Hi Vineet Garg,,

ok here we go:

1. The Disk Management views (Standard & Advanced ) from the latest win10 installation.
CRIS:Please see the attached files.

2. What were the selections in Rufus for win 7: 'Partition Scheme', 'Target System' & 'File System'
CRIS:Please see the attached files.

3. What were the selections in Rufus for win 10 : 'Partition Scheme', 'Target System' & 'File System'
CRIS: For Windows 10 USB Installation I didn't used Rufus, but I used the original Microsoft Media Installation; and this is the reason of why I discovered the problem of the NVMe/Bios that cannot be Rufus but it is a problem of the Bios behaviour (as also I did read around).

In meantime I'm studing the interesting processes that you asked me for created the iso.....:D

Hi Cris,
Greets,
Thanks for the help & stuff ( specially Turboboost ) , Sorry for botheration!
1. As said by you, you changed SATA section in BIOS. Is there a NVMe section in bios ?
2. Though Turboboost app is supported on win7, I would advise to keep distance from it as of now. Leave BIOS as it is.
3. 'nLite' for XP, 'vLite' for Vista & 'NTLite' for win7/8/10.
4. Please don't open your laptop.
5. I agree with you : win7 can't run in Full UEFI.
6. I am quite hopeful that all the USB ports will work.
7. Need not touch Turboboost in BIOS as of now but keep distance from installing it in the OS ( as said above)
8. I am interested why you disabled Thunderbolt 'USB' & 'Boot' support again ?!
9. I am interested what Thunderbolt is doing now ?!!
10. Are you able to decide over wanted stuff in Windows Updates ?
11. Probably, the last question soon!

My plan is to integrate windows updates & few drivers that make a basic/workable installation. Then we will get the devices to work one by one.

Anything else ? Please let me know.

Thanks & Regards. ...

Hi Vineet Garg,

I'm testing like a crazy......... I have some nice resaults and more consciosly where there are the problems and how to solve them.

I go back to you soon with a nice report, I think we are in the right track my friend.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks for the help & stuff ( specially Turboboost ) , Sorry for botheration!
CRIS: Thanks to you and never mind ;).

1. As said by you, you changed SATA section in BIOS. Is there a NVMe section in bios ?
CRIS: The NVMe, unfortunately there is not this voice (are only two Mode SATA/INTEL OPTANE to choose in between as I wrotre in few posts ago), but don't worry because now we haven't these problems with the new drivers that I injected!!!!

2. Though Turboboost app is supported on win7, I would advise to keep distance from it as of now. Leave BIOS as it is.
CRIS: Thanks for the advices ok I will not install it, because also I cannot see the differences...

3. 'nLite' for XP, 'vLite' for Vista & 'NTLite' for win7/8/10.
CRIS: Thank you very much for this, I didn't know about.

4. Please don't open your laptop.
CRIS: For sure :geek:..
5. I agree with you : win7 can't run in Full UEFI.
CRIS::-)

6. I am quite hopeful that all the USB ports will work.
CRIS: Me too, and I discovered many things that I will report you, I anticipate you that you where right about the Intel(r) usb 3.1 eXtensible host controller (congrats), because I try to navigate in hte Fernando Forum and found the modded one from him (thanksfully to Fernando), and only after this I unlocked the Thunderbolt/USB 3.1 otherwise with others does't work!!! The "normal USB" still not works but I believe we are close...

7. Need not touch Turboboost in BIOS as of now but keep distance from installing it in the OS ( as said above).
CRIS: Yes, I got you on it no worries...

8. I am interested why you disabled Thunderbolt 'USB' & 'Boot' support again ?!
CRIS: Was just temporary because I reset all the voice as factory settings, because I made some test to understand where was the problems of the NVMe/BIOS, but now I installed back windows 7, please no worries because I was going to turn on again once I was going to Install Windows 7. Anyhow, by Default the System Disable the Fucnionality if I reset by Factory Settings.

9. I am interested what Thunderbolt is doing now ?!!
CRIS: After Intel(r) usb 3.1 eXtensible host controller, in Windows 7 is working once I give the right driver injected by NTLite, in Windows 10 even if by BIOS the Thunderbolt port is Disable anyhow still working. I think that The type C USB and Thunderbolt are two different functionality . Have means that Thunderbolt as we know gives the 40 GB/s transfer rate only with Thunderbold hardware compatibility otherwise the Thunderbolt port will work as a normal Type C USB 3.1 with 10 GB/s of transfer rate. Anyhow, I keep it turned on anyway...

10. Are you able to decide over wanted stuff in Windows Updates ?
CRIS: I studied it day and night on that and now I'm more conscious of what I really need and what for but anyhow I will share with you with the report of what I did....

11. Probably, the last question soon!
My plan is to integrate windows updates & few drivers that make a basic/workable installation. Then we will get the devices to work one by one.
CRIS: Yes, exactly Vineet Garg, the Windows Updates are not so important (except the hotfix like the NVme maybe), because I can see that the Windows 7 installation need the right drivers to let it works amazingly. I agree with you totally. The Windows Upgrades, for the functionality of the installation are the really minor problems, because I can Install the Windows Updates once everything are working well.

Hi Vineet Garg,

after few days of studying, tests, errors and so on, so finally I did Windows 7 working well but I still missing the following Drivers:

· For the lateral and principal 5 USB 3.1:

Ø PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A36D&SUBSYS_121C1462&REV_10
This should be the Key to let works all the USB 3.1 around of the Laptop, from Microsoft it’s this driver by Windows 10 Controller host Intel(R) USB 3.1 eXtensible - 1.10 (Microsoft)

· For the USB 3.1 Type C/ Thunderbolt, the original is not fine, so I used some from Fernando Forum and another one from the nice site Station Drivers, In fact at the beginning NTLite on the list hardware missing was wrote 2 of Controller host Intel(R) USB 3.1 eXtensible - 1.10 (Microsoft). And now, it is missing only one from the 5 Normal USB, anyhow this it’s the list of the USB Type C/ Thunderbolt to work:

Ø Intel USB 3.1 Controller Drivers Version 17.2.70.x WHQL

This site has any drivers extracted for any system Version of Windows OS, especially to whom it’s looking for the latest drivers for the oldest Windows OS.
Ø To the let it works totally, I used all the latest Fernando Drivers USB at this address (because without these drivers I cannot make the USB Installation on the installation Windows 7 process):
Forum - USB 3.0/3.1 Drivers (original and modded)

The report of this entire situation, it seems that all the drivers that I injected even the latest one Modded from Fernando, they are working, but I checked inside the missing drivers list from NTLite, and there are few that match and the others doesn’t match with one that I really need because per my understanding it’s the family chipset Intel(R) C240 Series Chipset Family LPC Controller.
I can find from CofeeLake hardware, any chipset even the rare Chipset Family C230 but I still not find the C240 that I believe it is connected to the USB problems.
In fact, in the architecture C220 and C230 inside the log list of the USB drivers I saw few matchings drivers and I tried them as well anyway, but it misses the exactly key driver to let the USB communication works.

Here, I need your help to try to mod the original drivers with help from some one that can help me. Or if you can help me in some way to find.

· Killer(R) Wireless-AC 1550 Wireless Network Adapter (9260NGW)

Ø As you know I extracted the drivers but it seems not enough for the system, because still not find the Killer(R) Wireless-AC 1550 hardware, I tried to install the older version of Killer WiFi software successfully but the software finds out only the Aquantia AQtion 10Gbit Network Adapter. So, it seems that the drivers to find the Killer 1550 not fully installed, it seems still missing something else, in fact you can see in the picture with the drivers missing list from NTLite (that I attached in this post)
· SteelSeries PS/2 Keyboard

Ø I don’t know what to do, I saw from the report of the NTLite missing drivers that, the drivers are signed by MSI, I think if it’s possible to mod the drivers by the help from someone will be great.

The rest are working perfectly, even the NVMe, and especially no errors anymore during the Windows 7 Installation

So, we still to solve those 3 problems (the 5 USB,Wireless-AC 1550 and if possible the lights from SteelSeries PS/2 Keyboard).

I have tried any way and any software with a lot of test and the best it’s NTLite, because first can find from your system Windows 10 what it’s missing for Windows 7, second when it modified the .wim files doesn’t make any bad corruption of the image and can create the .iso from the same software where NTLite management everything, when others software make everything nice but corrupt the boot files for some reason. The thing that I love from NTLite, it is that before install the system can tell you what you still missing inside your new .iso OS, and this it’s so much an advantage from this software, because save you hours of re-testing and installing of the OS from zero.

I used and learned the following softwares to download the Windows Upgrades (but useless as I said except the NVMe and other few hotfix):

A. Windows Update software
B. AutoPatcher
C. Wsusoffline.
D. WHDownloader

Thank you so much for this Vineet Garg, it’s anyway nice to know all these stuff

Cris

Hi Cris,
Greets,
Good Stuff! Now that you have given me a stable installation, I will mod the drivers. I will expect that before trying any modded driver, you always make a system restore point & instantly make a restore if it fails. Actually a broken installation can do all the damage.
Its time up for today!

Thanks & Regards. ...

Hi Cris,

1. 'Intel(R) C240 Series Chipset Family LPC Controller'
Run 'SetupChipset.exe -overall' with the original chipset driver.

2. After Chipset, you should be able to run NTLite from within win7. When you launch NTLite, there is a 'Live Install' option on the very first window. That allows to mount installed OS & look into it. You can directly know what is still missing in the installed OS from time to time.

3. After Chipset, 'PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A36D&SUBSYS_121C1462&REV_10'
Try this : View attachment Driver.zip
( modded the driver from Win7 Image Updater to add support )
( This is not digitally signed! )

4. If 3. goes well, Install original 'Realtek card reader'.

Let me know.

Thanks & Regards. ...
