Hello! Today I was wondering if it is possible to dualboot Windows 10 And Windows 7.

I was looking for this on the internet and found some articles about this but I am not very sure if it is possible and it is compatible with my laptop.

First of all, I have a Dell Vostro 3580 with 8GB of RAM and an 240GB SSD running Windows 10 x64 (with UEFI, [i hope it is, it's a bios but with mouse and gui] ) at the moment of writing this.

I know that I have to shrink the partition of the Windows to install Win 7 but is it very simple as I just saw on internet.

I saw some clips where they shrinked the volume to give space nd then they boot-up of the stick and install windows 7 on the new partition but is it all??!! Like for the drivers I will install dell support asisst if its compatible.

So, my question is: CAN I DUAL BOOT AS I CAN?

All of my Dell OptiPlex 9020 minitowers are set up to dual boot Windows 7 and Windows 10.
All of them have 2 separate 250 GB SSD's which are connected to the SATA-0 and SATA-1 ports.
Windows 7 was installed in the SSD which is connected to the SATA-0 port.
Windows 10 was then installed in the SSD which is connected to the SATA-1 port.
Windows 7 automatically loads during startup, unless I select Windows 10 to load first.

You have a Dell Vostro 3580 laptop which has a single 240 GB SSD, so you don't have the ability to do what I did.
In order to dual boot with Windows 7 and Windows 10, you need to divide its SSD into 2 partitions.
Windows 7 would normally be installed first, then Windows 10 would normally be installed second.
Because Windows 10 is already installed, that complicates the process and requires additional steps.

It's obvious to me that you haven't done this before.
I strongly recommend you have someone who has the knowledge to do it help you do it.
You don't want to get in over your head and wind up with a non-functioning laptop.

First of all, thanks for the reply and the second, yes I know it would be hard. It would even be harder to downgrade to win 7 because it has some thing with uefi, the intel i7, safe boot and legacy rom's and the best of all my win is licenced. I dont want to risk it. I might use a second computer to this.

UPDATE: I went to my UEFI and when I activated the Legacy ROM's it said that my laptop is not compatible to boot Windows 7 or 8.1 so i'm going to use a virtual machine for this.

If the BIOS is set in UEFI mode and you change it to Legacy mode, Windows will probably not boot.
Reverting the BIOS back to UEFI mode to correct that may not work.
You may need to reinstall Windows in Legacy mode or UEFI mode.

When I purchase a refurbished Dell minitower, the BIOS is usually set in UEFI mode.
I prefer Legacy mode, so I change it before installing Windows in dual boot mode.
That's my personal preference, so that doesn't mean you need to do it.
