Dual Monitor Control Separation

I currently use my computer to watch HULU shows on my HDTV, and it works wonderfully. However, with multiple monitors, I was hoping to be able to watch TV and work on other things simultaneously. The problem that I'm having is that if Hulu is in Full screen on my TV, and I try to do ANY Thing at all on my other screen, Hulu exits full screen mode. This is Suffice to say, a pain in the butt. Now I can not multi task, I either have to use my computer, or watch TV, and not both.
What I was wondering was, is it possible to completely separate the control between the windows, so that you would instead of dragging the mouse off screen, press something more of an alt+Tab keystroke to switch between them? That way, not only do I not lose the mouse pointer momentarily if I touch the edge, but I'd also not effect what one screen is doing while working on the other. Maybe even enable multiple mouses and keyboards to be used and assigned to their own screen so that multiple users could even use the same computer... one could type homework while the other checks their email... or plays a game. With the multiple cores in most computer nowadays, this type of multitasking should be a snap.

Check out the program called Maxifier which enables you to free the mouse up, and keep your media centre screen filling its monitor...

Windows 7 does not have enough multi-screen tools.

Here is a list of multi-screen tools that would be nice to have with the new operating system:

Control Separation: Enables you to use 2 separate sets of control devices for both windows, and disables movement and click interruption between them.

Quick switch: Disables both desktop extension and duplication, creating two separate and independent workspaces. You can quickly switch between them by pressing Alt + Shift + # (1-9). The number corresponds with the monitor you wish to control.

Monitor swapping: Swaps the view on the current monitor with the view on a designated monitor: Alt+Ctrl+# (1-9).

Program sending: Send the program to designated monitor by right clicking the window bar or task bar icon, and selecting the monitor number to send it to from a drop down menu.

Program default monitors. Set up the monitor you wish to send certain programs to by default. EX. Windows media to TV, Internet explorer to Laptop monitor, Games to External monitor. etc.

Separate background settings for each monitor.

Duplicate some monitors and extend others.

Composite video imaging between monitor grids (that is where you have a grid of monitors and you are playing a movie or showing a piece of the picture on each of them creating one really big movie or picture)

Screen Resolution/size Matching.

Zoom some monitors and not others.

Turn off and on monitors from the menu, causing all the necessary changes.



In short, there are about 100 different things that the multi screen support is missing. If you unplug a monitor, and the computer doesn't detect that it has been unplugged, it can send all of one program to another monitor and you cannot retrieve it.

2 monitors

I had trouble with Win7 dual monitors. I could watch TV on main monitor but no movement or sound on 2. I am running win7, 64bit, 4MB Mem & Gainward GTX260 896MB.

I bought a Samsung 20" DTV TV for the 2nd monitor. It has inputs for video or PC & many other inputs & outputs. It is controlled by a remote control.

I can switch from TV to PC & back or to any other input (DVD, VCR etc) with the remote control. It is nice for working with 2 documents or two peograms at the same time as I can switch inputs with one click.
