Solved Dual monitor Setting

hi..
i have some issue about using dual monitor.
i got 1 PC and 2 monitor.
when i tried to set up 2 monitor with 1 PC got issue. one monitor just blank.
windows already detect 2 monitor.
i use 1 VGA card and plug monitor 1 to the VGA card, and monitor 2 to the onboard.

is it have to plug 2 VGA card??
i want to set monitor 1 can display all the thing..normal desktop, and monitor 2 just display the background, so i can drag the program to the monitor 2.

Unfortunately, there is not way run on-board graphics with your dedicated graphic card

hi.. i put 2 VGA card..same..still not appear in my second monitor. maybe should have KVN switch?

A KVM switch lets you use one monitor on two different PC's, it won't let you use two monitors on one PC. Do both video cards show up in device manager? are all the correct drivers installed. When you open display properties are both monitors shown/detected? What make and model video cards are you trying to use?

Unfortunately, there is not way run on-board graphics with your dedicated graphic card

It is more than possible on an AMD chipset based system (and some Intel and Nvidia, but the Nvidia only works with a few select Nvidia cards, unlike the AMD where it is pretty much any AMD card with onboard graphics) with onboard graphics and an AMD/ATI video card. The feature/option is called Surround View, and is set in the bios.The only time it doesn't work on an AMD system like that is if it is an appliance PC (Dell, HP, etc) where they like to hide or leave out support features in the bios, or the motherboard manufacturer left it out of the bios.

ryo what is the make and model of your motherboard, as well as the make and model of the video card?

Hybrid crossfire isn't available on just any motherboard. I believe you need a 690G or 780G or better. My two ASUS nForce 630a based boards don't have it. Anything new should have it but if you're behind the tech curve a little, like me, it may not be an option.

Didn't say anything about Hybrid Crossfire, which is very limited in the cards and chipsets it works with. Surround View is a feature of any AMD chipset with onboard video (from at least the 760G and up), and any ATI/AMD video card. I have used it with very good results on a 780G based board and a HD 4830.

lol, sorry my apologies, I had a couple of beers before making that post and got things crossed up. My two motherboards have AMD processors but nForce chip-sets. In my case that would make it hybrid sli which is rare. I just logged on to try and go fix my post but wasn't fast enough.

sorry for the late response. i'm using mainboard ASUS P5G41t-M LX
i got a VGA card that's have port inside VGA, DIV, and HDMI
but both of my monitor. just support VGA cable only. am i have to add one VGA card again?

and my vga card is Geforce 9300GS.

No idea if it is supported by the card or not, but have you tried it with a DVI-VGA adapter on the DVI port from the card?

Again no idea if it will work or not, but have a look in the bios for this setting,



and set it to PEG/IGD. If the bios doesn't just auto disable the onboard video once it detects a video card, that setting in theory should allow the use of the onboard with a video card.

hi stormy,
i'm already check the bios. and initiate graphic adapter already set to PEG/PCI
but still not effect when i plug 1 cable at monitor 1 and 1 cable again at monitor 2. it's just show at monitor 1 only.
but there is got option IGD/PEG(Dual)??

That Windows sees both says to me that the bios isn't disabling the onboard Intel graphics. Have installed the drivers for both the Nvidia card and the Intel graphics?

i set in bios IGD/PEG (Dual) and now it's work..thanks all.
