CPUID / CPUZ simply report core speed, they dont actually alter it....... in order to surpass 2.6ghz you'll need to ''overclock'' this process is done via the BIOS before windows is booted.

there's no real quick answer for this, but take a look HERE, this will get you started with OCing. :)

If you have a GigaByte board, it would be easy to oc through Easy Tune 6 .. It's very simple and I've overclocked my E7300 to 3GHz a couple of days ago using ET6 and it worked just fine, but had to go back to the regular speed cause I'm using the stock CPU fan for now..

gigabyte boards are pure win to me. I am allowed to get up close to 3.5ghz without crashing but my stock cooler will make a lot of noise. waiting for new cooler.

To the OP, when you bought this computer did dell say you are allowed to even over clock. most PC brand lock the BIOS so nothing over-clocks at all.

1920x1200 isn't really true HD. Yea, you can run HD stuff on it as nowadays all 1080HD is is just a pixel height of 1080 or more. For true HD you need a 16:9 ratio monitor, where 1920x1200 is a 16:10 ratio, so a 1080 movie will need to be stretched to fill the monitor screen, which in turn will make the image look slightly stretched.
