I have recently built this rig (specs in drop-down). The DVD drive is a new component too and worked just fine when I installed the OS. Now it is not being detected by the computer.

No it was not showing in the BIOS. Right after I posted my dilemma, I remembered on initial startup, it did not detect that drive either. That time I swapped the SATA cable out (it was an older cable, not new). That fixed it that time. However, on re-trying the old cable it worked, so like a Dummy I left it in there. 
So, I just swapped the cable again and the system is now detecting the drive again.
