I had this problem in this problem in the past and it was solved, but I've got it again and can't find that thread.:o

When a dvd is in the drive, I used to be able to just click it and it would play.

Now, if I click it, it opens and shows the info on the disc and I have to figure out which one to click.

It also says, ready to be burned at bottom - but the dvd is fine, and plays normally.

I just would like to be able to click it and have it play.

Thanks,

Paul

Easiest things first. Have you tried a system restore to a point before this started?

"Ready to be Burned" sounds like a ripper/burner program. Have you got it running?

I haven't played Dvds on my comp in a long time, so I don't have a restore point to use.

The "ready to be burned" was also the message I was getting in the past when I had the problem.

As I said, this was solved by someone in a previous thread - Guess I'll just have to go through all my previous history to find the solution.

Thanks for reply,

When I right click the drive, there is no such message to delete temp files.

Haven't tried Step Two yet.

I think the reason for the problem, is that the dvd I was watching was somehow burned as a data disc.

I didn't want that but I must have inadvertently picked that option.

The other problem is that on a store-bought dvd, if I click the drive, it used to play immediately.

Now, it says "no program associated" even though I have set the program in Default Programs.

Paul
