Solved DVD will not open up or show up

I am trying to reinstall win 7 with my disk on a ssd hd. The DVD won't open up, show up in disk manager or windows explorer, but is seen in device manager and said the typical 'working properly'. I even tried the straight pin jab to no success. Any ideas on how to get this open? BTW, i have win 10 only, but i want win 7 back.

On Explorer if you click on the ODD drive it should open or right click and select Eject.
If it doesn't open, I would say you have a hardware failure on your ODD.

Why don't you use a USB drive?

Make a USB Win 7 64 UEFI boot able drive.

To make a Win 7 USB boot able drive:

Open a CMD window as administrator and type:

diskpart
list disk (it will list all drives. Identify the USB drive number)
select disk n (replace n by the USB drive number obtained with list disk)
clean
convert mbr
create part primary
select part 1
format fs=fat32 quick
assign
active
exit (to exit diskpart)

If you have a Win 7 installation iso file
On Win 7 use 7Zip to extract all files and folders from the Win 7 iso file to the USB drive.
On Win 10, mount the iso file and copy all files and folders to the USB drive.

If you have a Win 7 installation DVD
On another computer that has ODD, copy all files and folders from the DVD to the USB drive

To make it UEFI boot able you must add the \efi\boot folder

To make it universal (all Win 7 versions), go to \sources on the USB drive and delete \sources\ei.cfg

dvd wont open up

When it rains, it may pour. I suspect the dvd has gone south...BUT, i do have another dvd installed on one of those external usb drive, which BIOS sees and i got set it up to boot first, but from some reason Bios although sees it, but doesn't initialize it. Not too keen on bios messing with. Is there a Bios 0nly forum here?

Is it an original M$ disk or did you burned a iso?

ORIGINAL....PRETTY SURE its my bios...it sees it but doesn't boot it after setting it up as first to boot. I need a bios qualifier.

I don't think is related to your BIOS.
Go to the Asus web site and download the latest BIOS.
Update your BIOS under BIOS, not under windows.
