When playing Call of Duty Ghosts, anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes into the game my screen goes black, the comp freezes and either one of these 2 messages are displayed:

1 - DVI no signal
2 - ASUS out of range

Soemtimes I don't get a message and the game just closes and the comp freezes.

I have and EVGA GeForce GTX nvidia 660Ti graphics card,
ASUS VG248QE monitor,
Windows 7 64 bit home premium,
and a verizon fios fiber optic IPS.

I have to restart my comp after this happens and then all is well again. I performed temp. tests and it ran from 49'c to 77'c while playing the game. The only other program that this happens to me is Battlefield 4. Otherwise, I never have a problem. All cable connections are fine. I even tried using different cables, plus I also tried an HDMI cable and still had the same problem. I lowered the settings way below what my setup is capable of and it still doesn't help. Last video settings used - 800x600 res, @ 60hz. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them already. I do have/use GeForce Experience.
The 800x600 was only temporary, thinking it might help solve the problem. I also receive "ASUS out of range" messages upon freeze up occasionally. I put the res setting back to native res which is 1920x1080

what can happen is higher end games like this are running alot of shaders. this can overload the video card. i have a GTX 660 SuperClocked. So i see this happen to me sometimes.

if you dont have Precision X EVGA here it is >> EVGA | Software | EVGA Precision

Make sure if your running these games that you have voltage at 100% or even 110%
you can also set max FPS -- 120

if this doesn't fix you can mess around with over-under clocking your card.
- Warning - dont go over 50 your GPU offset or 130 on memory clock -

and if your card is getting up to 77'c that's pretty high, i would recommend turning your graphics card off of auto fan speed, and up to 70% or more. I usually never let my card get higher then 63'c.

lastly when playing games like ghosts or BF4, turn anti-aliasing off and the option thats called HBAD all this does is increase small settings like plants on the ground or small rocks etc.

Did all those things Josh but still have the problem. I filed a support ticket with Activision and even they don't know why it's happening. Their answer, "we have a patch coming out (no date) and maybe that will help". REALLY?

Assuming you have a gtx 660 ti your computer must be custom built, I would recommend going inside and looking at the PCI E. Port and making sure it's in the x16 port not x8 or x4. Also make sure you have the 6-pin power connector in fully. Also let me know how much RAM your running and how many hrz and your processor and how many ghz. Last problem I could think off the top of my head would be your power supply, let me know the wattage of that if your running one 660 ti I would recommend a psu of atleast 650 wt. if you can't get any of these just give me the serial #'s and we can figure out your configuration to see if these games can be stablized with your system at all.

All the connectors are secure and inserted properly. I have 18gigs of ram with the CPU - 940 @2.93ghz.
Power supply is 800 watts. The Nvidia GeForce Experience has optimized this game but I lowered all the settings to see if that would help, and it hasn't. I also adjusted my GPU with EVGA Precision as suggested by another responder above.
