My PC died so I built a new one.
Same OS, same hard drives. All were good except one that says: Dynamic Disc Invalid.
When I click on properties it says disc OK functions properly.

It was my storage disc and worked perfectly. Nothing was done to it. Other 2 discs work fine.

Is there a way to Activate it, or at least copy stuff from it? I think it will let me reformat but I need what's on it...

Thanks in advance

Was it internal before and external now? If so, try it internal and "import foreign disk".

Otherwise first thing:
Do you have another drive to backup stuff if you can read this disk?
Download and make bootable Linux Mint MATE DVD/USB. Boot with it and see if your files are accessible.
Then backup and re-initialize this one.

Or see Option 1 - http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/26829-convert-dynamic-disk-basic-disk.html

HI, thanks for reply and sorry for not giving the right details.

It is an internal disc. When I mounted it back into PC, it didn't even show up.

I got one of those HDD adapters that are externally powered and it connects into any SATA disc and plugs into USB. (Similar to this one:
Amazon.com: StarTech.com USB 3.0 to 2.5" SATA III Hard Drive Adapter Cable w/ UASP - SATA to USB 3.0 Converter for SSD/HDD - Hard Drive Adapter Cable: Computers & Accessories

In C. Panel/Computer management/Disc management, I get it to inactive, but it refuses to do anything. I think I could format it , but would loose everything...
In properties it says disc functions normally?

So at the moment I am really interested in some way to retreive (if possible) the content or at least a part of it...

THANKS

Tried the Linux method in earlier post? See if it is recognized that way.

Also does it show in Device Manager when plugged in internally?
