EFRservice ZA Checkpoint High CPU

EFR service is occasionally causing high CPU.
Is it possible remove this service?
It slows down my PC to zero if I'm watching video or entering text.
It's located in the Checkpoint software.
I switched the service to stop.

You might want to download/run Malwarebytes to see if it's a malware, if you didn't install the service.

I don't see any reason why you can't install it unless you have a specific need for it. It's not a Windows service.

Thanks for the reply, but how to deinstall it?
It's apparently a service of ZA.
I found all the reg links with reg.seeker and I could delete them.
But is it safe to do so? These files are locked in explorer.

Do you have ZoneAlarm installed?

It appears that the service is also installed by Check Point.

Maybe Check Point is part of ZoneAlarm.

Yes that's right. ZA installed. it's a Checkpoint program.

Stopping the service indeed stopped for the time being that annoying utility.

I had read that link earlier but, what gets me is in the first paragraph of this link-

Check Point Endpoint Security - Should I Remove It?

says "while maintaining a transparent user experience."

That's not the case here.
