Solved Enabling XP Mode under VirtualBox

I installed VirtualBox but already had XPMode installed. How do I connect the two, or do I reinstall xp mode? The language is getting complicated as I don't know what some settings mean or how they should be set. I tried to add win xpmode base.vhd but doesn't seem to work. What am I doing wrong?

Why don't you run XP Mode in Virtual PC as it is meant to be run, instead of VirtualBox? Even if you succeed to import XP Mode to VirtualBox, after merging its two vhd's, you lose the activation, needing a valid XP product key.

You sure about that? I was asking people who have VirtualBox and xp mode, and they didn't seem to mention lost activation. The reason I want to do it is because they said that it enables you to download games to xp. The whole reason I got Win 7 Pro was for XP, but I failed to research the "Mode" part of it. Currently, any game I try to download says something like 'not meant for virtual pc', etc.

Are you sure those people aren't talking about installing XP on VirtualBox, instead of using a Virtual PC machine XP Mode on it? That's two different things. Microsoft has licensed XP Mode to be used in a Virtual PC machine, not on VirtualBox.

You would be better off if you just installed XP to dual boot with Seven. Virtual machines are not ment to gaming, they use quite limited, emulated hardware, and can not for instance use the GPU of your host computer.
