I will be straight up to the point. I haven't installed the new updates of Windows yet. System was absolutely fine until today morning.

When I booted the system in the evening, flash popped to update, I said ok to it. Then I got the error msg - "endpoint mapper database error"

Ok, I assumed it to be a software related problem, tried checking out google.. It was suggested somewhere to try run sfc /scannow to fix any corrupt files (if any). I tried to open the cmd as an Administrator and once again I get this "endpoint mapper database error". I tried running Malwarebyte to check if system was infected & I get this "endpoint mapper database error" again.

Now, I'm clueless what to do further. I don't want to freshly install W7 all over again.. I have lots of files on this system & its my work system. I would really appreciate some help, so that I could fix this problem with out losing any data. Most of my programs are coming up with the error. Here I'm attaching one such screenshot:

Basically, I'm even worried.. what would happen if I try to restart the system - will the system even start now ?

*just to update.. I tried running CC Cleaner to scan for registry errors. It listed quite a number (mostly the exe files of running applications, installation exe's & uninstall) but after the scan, it started doing all sorts of drama.. hanging up.. seemed another cc cleaner program opened up.. then it closed automatically but programs hung up for a while.. so I closed CC Cleaner.exe via Task Manager.. I was unable to open CC Cleaner properly after this .. it starts up with a hung screen in CC Cleaner & the program freezes constantly.

I'm not sure if that helped any further in isolating the prob to an extent.. (at the moment trying to scan my system with Microsoft Security Essentials as Malware Bytes isn't opening up like mentioned earlier)

Just wanted to update before marking the post as solved.. ..
After spending sleepless night... taking backups of my browser, softwares, downloading softwares & what not... Struggling with CC Cleaner registry clearance, MS-Security Essentials Complete Scan (around 20% was completed in around 6hrs and 50 mins.. before my patience ran out & cancelled it)...

Finally decided to reboot my system & take one thing at a time (made myself ready for the reformat)
...
voila ... everything fixed automatically. I was able to run sfc /scannow & no errors were found.

just for others who came across my post...
avoid reimage software at all costs. Read PC Mag comments on the post regarding this software.

ps: I have made this post only on this forum & no where else.. guess.. what.. take a look at this: Fix endpoint mapper database error on windows 7
and they even have relevance score level added to it, yesterday it was 100%, now its 200%, may be it will reach 2k% by 20th day :p
