Apologies, I will try to be clearer.

When trying to run the Epson scan, I get the following error message. EPSON Scan cannot be started. Please try using the Troubleshooting Assistant to solve the problem....

I have tried this, gone through the options with no avail. My last PC was running XP and the scanner worked fine, so I wondered I wondered if I was missing a driver now I'm on 7.

Please let me know what other info you need. Thanks

Have you tried updating the drivers? You'll need to find the 64-bit version of the driver for Windows 7

Looking here, I see some other stuff, but no driver - Epson Stylus DX6050 : Drivers & Software

If 7 hasn't installed a driver, there may be not be any for the scanner, and certainly not ones for 64-bit :(

You can try the Vista drivers here.... Epson Stylus DX6050 : Drivers & Software

Or you can try and run in compatibility mode... See this tutorial on running in Compatibility Mode.

Outside of that, you could try calling Epson's tech support and see what they have to offer, though be prepared to hear "sorry we don't support Windows 7 with that scanner"

No.... I'm not bashing Epson as I have two older printers and a scanner (circa 2002ish) that Epson does support under Windows 7 64-bit.

Good luck
