I have an Epson 4990 scanner installed on my Win 7 machine (build 7100 w/latest updates installed). I d/l'd the latest drivers for Vista from Epson's site -- v3.04a. The s/w installed fine, and the scanner works.
In Epson Scan's config section, there is a box one can check to have the s/w remember the various settings/changes/enhancements one makes to the image after preview, but before scanning. This box is checked.
As near as I can tell, the Epson Scan software has a memory problem. It does not remember the settings so I have to scan the images one at a time. Annoying.
I suspect that this is a compatibility issue. But I do not know if it was a problem with Vista or if it might be unique to Win 7.
What I'm hoping to find is some sort of tweak or workaround that someone here might know that will help me get the scanner working the way it should.
Any chance of that?
Best,
Michael

- I'm a musician and a composer, so this PC is used primarily as a digital audio workstation (DAW), so sound is king. I'm also a photographer, so I also make use of it for image processing. I find the ATI Radion on the MoBo to be perfectly adequate in this respect and the AOC 22" monitor to be respectable. It's about time for an upgrade, though.
