Since owning my computer (approximately one year) Windows Backup has run perfectly. It is on a schedule to run every Monday at 08:00am on an internal DVD drive. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium. The CPU is a 32 bit Intel i7 processor and 4 Gb installed memory.
On the last run I encountered a problem where the backup is failing with a code 0x1000039 and despite numerous reruns it continues to fail with the same error.
Despite an intensive search through Google I have been unable to find the solution to a failure the same as mine - most refer to Windows Backup running on network drives or via a peer-to-peer network.
I would be so appreciative if a forum member could help me through this error.
Hi elusive1 and welcome to Seven Forums. Please check out this link. I hope it solves your problem. If not, come back and let us know. I'm kind of a rookie here and there are so many very bright and friendly people here. Even if this does solve your problem, you could come back to visit and maybe check out the Chillout Room for some fun. Best of Luck.

Hello Alfred01 thank you very much for warm welcome. I have tried this fix and I can't even get the GPEDIT command to execute it says no item match your search?
Hi elusive1. Ya, I couldn't get that gpedit to work on my laptop either. The next thing I would suggest is do you think you have a restore point before this problem started so you could use a system restore? This sounds like a corrupt file to me. Just my opinion.

There are a lot of solution's for 64 bit but I'm having a hard time finding answer's for 32 bit. I tried typing Microsoft into the Google search and the first hit was the MSFT home page and it had a search box right on the Google page. I typed in "error code 0x81000039" and got a big list of responses, but they all seemed to relate to 64 bit. Might be worth a try though. Please let me know.
