ERROR - Event 35 - Kernel-Processor-Power - ?????

Ok, my system is slowing down when I do large file transfers (transfer goes from 60M/s to 2M/s after zero io for about 10 min).

Anyway, I am now combing through the Event Viewer + resource monitor and I came across "event 35" with the source kernel-processor-power the text associated says "Performance power management features on process or 1 in group 0 are disabled due to a firmware problem. Check with the computer mfgr for updated firmware" - anyway I have a bunch of these errors.

Googled for 'event 35' and found nothing - anyone have more detail on this event and how to solve it?

Try:
- Action Center
- Go to Start and type in "perfmon /rel" (without the quotes) and press Enter
- Go to Start and type in "perfmon /report" (without the quotes) and press Enter
- Go to Start and type in "compmgmt.msc" (without the quotes) and press Enter
Then check the different areas there (especially the Windows Application and System log files in Event Viewer) for further information.

After a short power cut i'm getting the event 35 also

What is broken in my system? Device manager doesn't show any problems in hardware or drivers. My E8400 processor (dual, 3.0GHz) runs only at 1999,7MHz (diagnostic tool Everest sees the multiplier 6x instead of 9x). My BIOS settings are at 9x and 3000MHz. Since one less than a second power cut in our house the windows event log has been sending this after about every startup:

I am still getting the error although my disk transfer seems to be ok. The best
thing I could find out was that the error is generated from something like "speedstep"
being set.

Speedstep isn't the problem here with my fresh bios. I'm thinking that Windows is experiencing an error filtration concern since I can't find any intel from reading comments everywhere. I have opened two SRX case numbers and so far I'm also getting the 'stone wall' out of Microsoft professionals. My computer is running fine and I probably wouldn't be seeing any errors here in the event viewer but for the event ID 35 cat 2. Everything here by the way is defaulted on os settings and bios too.

I'm thinking that Windows [Vista Ult sp2 and Windows 7 Ult 32/64 are experiencing error event filtration concerns since I can't see any intel everywhere. The issue is present on all four of my drives seperately booted for Vista Ult sp2 and Win 7 Ult.

I'm not sure what your point is.

The issue is still unresolved as far as I know. While I would like to 'wish it away' I am all out of magic fary dust so will continue check responses to this thread in hopes that someone finally addresses it.

Upon further investigation I may have noticed that the filter for this error event ID 35 [task 2] is perhaps the result of missed identitiy of drivers ment for AMD cpu support but being seen correctly as the drivers for Intel i7 920 or higher and thus logged wrongly as an error.

There is also a bug related to the corruption of the 1mbs of memory when recovering from sleep state. Would it be related to your issue ? You may want to look into that directin... I'm having this issue, but this is not a severe bug, it will not affect stability in any way. It's just a random events I would call it that way...

Considering your bug happen during file transfer, there is only a little chance it might be related.

My best guess would be to try another HD and see the result. Otherway try to run some test on your HD.
