"New" doesn't necessarily mean perfect; are you positive the fan is running and you can easily feel the air flow?
I'm aware of a few makes/models that seem to have a tendency to run hot. I've seen forum posts (on manufacturer forums) complaining about it and others chiming in with the same observation. A few have disassembled, cleaned off and reapplied thermal paste with apparently marginal results. But if you're still under warranty I'd consider returning it, as you've got a valid reason.
How high is your CPU usage running (Task Manager) when idling?
Even your browsing activitiy causing 60°C seems a little on the high side. It would be helpful to know what you ambient air temp is.
And what part of the system actually gets up to 100°C?
