error message when I try to install Windows Essentials

I an so mad! I can not install Windows Essentials. I get error code 0x80040607.
Can someone please help me. I think I really hate windows 7. Have a hard time getting programs to download.

Download and use Ccleaner to clean out all remnants of prior install, then try to install
If it still does not work, try in safe mode.

It could be a virus scanner issue. Try TEMPORARILY uninstalling your virus scanner. Try installing Windows Essential. Does it work?

ok how do I start in safe mode. I get error message when I try to download anything.

Boot, and rapidly hit the f8 key; unitil you get to boot screen

Sounds like you have bigger problems than just MSE. You are getting contiuous error problems. That should be fixed before anything else.

Run a scan of Malwarebytes in safe mode

My computer works fine. I uninstalled the windows live essentials. So I don't have that on the computer anymore. I read where windows installer may need to be cleaned up but cam't find where to get the cleanup

Possibly to make it easier try the prior suggestion, first; turn off your Anti Virus and try to download
If that does not work try in safe mode.

ok I tried to do the safe mode. Everything I download it tells me the setup files are corrupted.

Turn off your antivirus and try in regular mode
Make sure that you have no malware. Download and scan with malwarebytes as suggested above.

ok I am sorry but I tried everything that you all told me and nothing works. I even tried to download from a different computer and install on mine and it still says the files are corrupted.
I am so upset.

Thanks everyone for your help but found a program on my computer that restored everything back to the way it was.
