error messages whenever I set up system protection

Hi! I've restored my computer several times within the last month, using my handy and easy to use set of restore disks. But every time I set up system restore configurations, there have always been difficulties. This last time, I remember I got an error message when I tried to set it to full recovery, under the configurations button. It said it didn't recognize the file path or something like that. But it did at least say the protection was turned on after that. But how can I know it really is, since I got those error messages? I got them even though I had managed to select full protection finally. Should I just ignore the grumbling of my computer and assume all is ok or what?

Hi Debby,
Personally, I don't trust Microsoft backup and restore as it has failed on numerous occasions!. I use AOMEI backupper free and backup to external hard drive! Macrium Reflect free is also recommended by myself and others on SevenForums as well. However, Macrium is a little more daunting.
External Hard Drives are becoming cheaper every day and more reliable over time than SSD Solid State Drives!

I agree with Snick, and don't trust the Microsoft backup and restore option.
I think that once you do get your system up and running like you want, you should create a disk image. This way, there is no need for restore disks [but you still have them if needed] and your system will be back up and running in a lot less time. Also, it might be best, that once in a while you also clone your disk for extra backup!
