Every application freezes and will not close

Hi,

So I started have this problem yesterday, basically every application I open freezes and does not close even from the task manager, however it does let me minimize it.

I also noticed my McAfee will not perform a scan, it starts it but always says 0 files scanned. I installed Malwsrebytes and ran ta scan in safe mode, problems were found but once I restarted my computer it said unable to find clean up file (or something along the lines of that.

I assume I have some spyware or virus? Any ideas?

Something else I just noticed, nothing appears on the my computer window, it says 0 items.
