This is the weirdest thing.
I had 4 files on my desktop. I deleted them all and later on deleted them from the recycle bin. After that I downloaded those files again and saved to my desktop and realized that they weren't saved. So I tried again and realized that all the .exe, pictures and office files I put on my desktop are getting deleted after they appear for 1-2 seconds. Folders are not getting deleted. I ran some Google searches but found nothing, please help. (The files are only getting deleted from desktop, not from other files)
**I don't have a public desktop, the deleted files won't appear on windows search either
**I'm not running a antivirus program
**I ran ADW after the problem occurred and the file ADW deleted didn't solve the problem
(Just thought I'd edit these in as they appear to be some fix suggestions)
Ok I enabled the show extensions etc etc from the view tab. So now the problem has changed, when I tried to copy paste a picture it just made a ping sound and didn't let me do it. When I dragged the same picture to desktop, it dragged there but I can't view it. If I try to create a new file for instance a doc file, it won't even let me name it because it says it can't find it.
*Did some more research. My problem is not refresh problem, nothing happens when I refresh. For instance I created a word doc, it didn't delete. If I try to open the file it says "This file could not be found" and if I refresh the desktop then it gets deleted. I tried saving to a picture and creating a file in my username/desktop instead of favorites but it doesn't do it. If I view hidden system files it resets the settings as soon as I hit ok. Can this be a permission issue?
