By the sounds of it you want to perform a secure scrubbing of your hard disk? In case someone doesn't come up with the link you requested, you can also use the open source program Eraser.
It offers several erasing algorithms/methods, from relatively fast DoD 5520 7 pass to the very slow (but extremely secure) Gutmann 35 pass.
