Excel Spread Sheets and Printing

Hi:The font in my Excel Spread Sheet will not print larger. It will display larger type but won't print larger.

Excel is a WYSIWYG, What You See Is What You Get, application. Whatever font you have on the screen is what should be printed unless you have a very old or your printer / printer driver is doing some font replacement.

But with the advent of a feature of Windows wherein one can hold the Ctrl key and press the + or - key, the view can be changed which will not affect printing. Same with the Ctrl key plus working the scroll wheel on the mouse to make the view change. It works on Mac OS X and Linux Mint 17, probably other versions of Linux.

I was thinking of that at first but that's just a zoom function, it doesn't change the layout. I might be reading Ardaths question wrong but I thinking its more to do with Excel resizing the fonts to fit on the page, try going into print preview / Page Setup and playing around with the scaling settings. Knowing what version of Excel would help to.

Could be "Fit to Page" is turned on and Excel is reducing it to print it on the paper.

How are you making the fonts display larger? Using the zoom function or using a larger font size?

Hi Boozad: I changed the size by adjusting the font size (Arial 18) is what I had on my computer screen but it would not print in that size. It stayed in Calibri 11.

Did you save the changes before printing? And did the cells change to allow for the enlargement of the font? It may not make a difference but it would be good to rule out such a simple issue. When in your spreadsheet can you click on the View tab then on the Page Layout panel, this should give you a preview of how the document will print.

Excel Spread Sheet doesn't print in larger Font

Hi Boozad: Yes I did save the changes and checked my print preview. On my computer monitor it looks like Arial 18 (large Print) but when I print it stays the same as before I enlarged it (Calibiri 11).
