So I've ead through the other threads about this problem but everyone seemed to be able to boot to safe mode and see thier desktop, I cannot.
Windows boots to the login screens and accepts the password but when the desktop pulls up it is just a black screen with a cursor. Here is what I've tried so far:
1. System restore to a point that was good.
2. Booting in safe mode (boots but still black screen)
3. running a new task from task manager to scan for viruses and perform chkdsk (no problems)
4. Explorer.exe will not run, even as administrator. I see it start in processes then disappears
I really really do not want to reload the OS is there any suggestions out there.
