external card, and front audio on pc case

I really never tried it, but I suspect that you won't be able to connect if they aren't

I've never seen AC97, or Azalia HD, pinouts on external (USB) soundcards. I doubt it will prove possible to use the case front ports without a ridiculous amount of custom adaptation work.

i would like to find a card that allows me to put my front audio jacks cause i think this asus xonar d2 that i have does not have the connections for that.

sotorius, what do you need to plug into the front panel? I think you can plug everything to the Xonar X2 in the back, you shouldn't need to use the front, which you can leave plugged to the motherboard

well i have speakers and an external mic and i also have a headset that has 2 3.5 jacks for headphones and mic.

it looks to me like the D2 and the D2X (same as D2, only PCI-E instead of PCI) are the only two cards that don't have a front panel connector on them.

Ok any good recommended sound cards, that have that option and that are pretty up to date with windows 7??
