Hi!

I want to view Media Center content in full screen on on my large screen LCD.

Everything works fine but I can't get Media Center to run in full-sceen. When I switch to full screen mode the TV-displays the error 'no signal detected' and goes into sleep mode.

Switching out of full screen mode brings the monitor back to live. It seems that no signal is send from the VGA-port to the TV when Media Center is running in full screen - how do I fix this?

Running Win7 Ultimate on a Lenovo T60P

Thoughts, ideas welcome...

:p

Assuming your laptop has a TV tuner:
Navigate: WMC>Settings>TV>Configure your TV or Monitor
then select the display you want to view full screen and confgure it making sure your TV is on the correct source.

Thanks for the reply - I forgot to mention that the signal from the laptop to the TV *also* drops when I go to the configuration screen ("WMC>Settings>TV>Configure your TV or Monitor"). At that point the wizard only 'sees' my laptop screen and cannot configure the TV.

Overall it seems that WMC in full screen mode drops the connection to the TV with external display giving the error 'no signal detected'

No there's no TV-tuner in the laptop.

the VGA signal from the video port on the laptop. I want to treat the TV as just another monitor/projector.

I can display anything from my computer on the TV, just not WMC in full screen. Other program such as Windows Media Player and regular Office applications work fine in full screen or windowed mode.

When I switch WMC from full screen to windowed mode the TV comes back to live, signal detected, and I can, for example, display any Internet TV show. Problem is I don't use the full screen real-estate of the TV - it's cluttered with the WMC window borders.

I double checked the video-output settings on my laptop and didn't see anything that would indicate to stop sending a signal to the external video-port under any circumstance (including the different power plans)...

What could be causing this? And how can it be fixed?

Nope the signal to the TV- stops the moment I hit that configuration screen.

I'm trying to configure the TV while it's connceted to the laptop - but once I get to the WMC TV-setting screen the signal to the secondary monitor is lost.

So you have analog on the laptop an analog on the TV.

Truthfully, you are not going to get a good picture unless you have a better setup, like HDMI to HDMI'

S-video to S-video,

In other words, you need a digital signal not an analog signal.
