Extra Context Menu entries - IME Related

Hello.

First of all, I have been reading your Windows 7 Tutorials, they're very helpful.

Now, I would like to ask you some help. Nothing to do with the tutorials.

There is something that is getting me crazy and I can't find a definitev answer.

Recently I noticed some context menu items under Windows 7 that I didn't previously recall.

These items appear on most text-input fields, including Notepad, any of the text fields in the default File Open/Save dialog boxes from almost any application, or even right-clicking on the text while renaming a file from Windows Explorer.

These extra items are:

"Right to left Reading order"
"Show Unicode control characters"
"Insert Unicode control character"
"Open IME"
"Reconversion"

They practically double both the width and the height of the context menu.

From what I know by searching Google, IME stands for Input Method Editor:

An input method is an operating system component or program that allows users to enter characters and symbols not found on their input device. For instance, on the computer, this allows the user of 'Western' keyboards to input Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Indic characters. On many hand-held devices, such as mobile phones, it enables using the numeric keypad to enter Latin alphabet characters. Wikipedia

In windows XP, there was a check-box in the Regional and Language Options Control Panel to turn off support for right-to-left reading languages. On the Languages tab, it's a box called "Install files for complex script and
right-to-left languages (including Thai)."

It seems this option is missing in Windows 7.

This is not a big problem but I feel annoyed with this extra items and the fact the double both the width and the height of the context menu.

Could any of you provide me any hint about this?

Is there any way to get rid of this extra items? Hide, disable? Any service?

I searched Google almost till die.

Welcome to Seven Forums Sit3UserX. Here's something to try for the Right to left Reading order. This is an automatic setting depending on which language keyboards you have installed:

1)Control Panel> Click Region and Language

2) Click the Keyboards and Languages tab> Click Change keyboards

3) General tab, Installed Services area, remove all keyboards which support right to left input
