SOLUTION: In the Advanced tab for my network adapter, I changed IPv4 Checksum Offload to Disabled.

A heartfelt Thank You from me, Greg.

I call up video recordings from 3 different laptops, all running 7 64-bit, for editing on my "working" laptop. For some reason, after years of doing this, the slow transfer problem started a few weeks ago, I've been tearing my hair out.

I'm not very techie and don't have the nerve or nous for doing the cmd line fixes I've seen recommended.

Just letting you know that your heroic efforts are still being appreciated.

heads up this will also find a bad wire ..... maybe I can save you from buying a network card like I did ...when I forced it from 100kb to 1mb it said network cable unplugged .... I switched out the cable and now it works fine switched the setting back to auto find and I bet my motherboard Ethernet would work better now also with this new cable

in short TRY AT LEAST TWO CABLES BEFORE YOU BUY A NEW CARD ....your welcome
