Extremely slow start

Hi, recently my win7 pro 32bit has some problem during the start; icons on desktop are white and are appearing very slowly; maybe it takes 5 minutes before the system is functioning. In few cases I have to reboot few times before it works!! Could you suggest what do I have to check? Of course reinstalling could be a good idea but gefore doing so I would like to understand what could be corrupted.

Start by installing Malwarebytes,
updating to run a Full Scan.

Then run SFC /SCANNOW Command.

After doing the scan above I would also check to see what programs are trying to launch at startup. You can use Autoruns to do so.

You don't need anything in Win7 msconfig to startup except AV. The others are freeloaders which can wait for you to open them.

The exception is sync, gadgets, stickies, a messenger you must have on at all times.
