I cant now. i got 2 bsod in 12hours. ill come back to you when my grandpa works with it. right now i shut all off. ): ill be back later. thanks again. and no i dont mind if everything is lost on the laptop. i only use msn and 2 mmos to play hehe. but now am sure its hardrive. it made a whir sound earlier.

Ok how can i reinstall? thats what i been trying to do. ie the factory settings. and yes i have ati mobilty 2450 series. the catalyst control says i have no driver thingy. i do have disc to reinstall but need to know how.

Do you have win7 64bit install DVD? Is your system Home Premium? Is a sticker with COA (certificate Of Authority) on back of laptop with a valid product key?

First download all those drivers, by clicking on the link and then "Add This to Your Download List ". Then edit the download list... which give you on option to download everything. Put it on usb stick to use after reinstall

By the way, on a different forum I was ask to do a Dell Diagnostics for my hardrive.
I did, and it went to 79% and error, so I did extended and nothing was there.
I will try what you linked. Do you still want me to keep Chkdsk going?
I only get in search box. ChkDsk.
How to get f/r/c: ?

Edit here it says: 4% complete. <104021 of 259840> file resource is unreadable.
104016 and 104017 to 22 is undreadable.

what program is saying 4% complete?

Yea my system is home preiumum 64 bit. i dont see a coa. only express service code. i only have a disc that says dell: device and utilities. already installed in your computer. for reinstalling dell inspirion m5030

dell: device and utilities is for:
-special device drivers for you dell machine. Most likely the same as all the things I told you to download
-utilities.. crap you don't need!

But I still think you have a damaged hard drive!!! So reinstall doesn't fix that!

First prove it's a hard drive failure!
You saw failure when running a tool. What tool?

I don't know what you did, but system was booting 2 hours ago!! Now still autochk error?
I only advised you to do a chkdsk/f/r c:
and run the western digital diagnostics tool
