factory restore

hey guys quick question, does anybody know how long a factory restore take? windows 7 home premium 64-bit

It will depend on your hardware and how much crapware is on your factory image, but you can count on 20-30 minutes is my best guess.

Is there any other way you can get out of it? Maybe a system restore, or image recovery? If not, good luck.

How are you doing it? From DVDs it will take a while. From the recovery partition it would be faster.

I would not interrupt it now.....better let it go, but hours does seem excessive.

You should also consider doing a clean install if you can. You could stop it and do that if you have install media.

Hmmmm, hopefully it will be done soon, them you will need to do updates and drivers for your system. If you could find an install DVD and use the OEM key on your sticker....but that would take longer, so good luck. I have done this before with an e-machine with a Pentium 4 and it only took about 30 minutes (then another hour or two getting updates and drivers.) This was Windows XP or Vista....not 7.

factory restore, help all e-machine users!!

i have amd athalon II X2 235e dual core processor. i chose the ''OS restore, but keep user data'' option. do you kno how long i should leave it restoring before i cancel it?
