Solved far cry 2 dont save

im entering the game. play and save, but when im exiting the game and entering again the save is Disappeared and he asks for create a new story ... please help me

Where are you saving? The checkpoints, or using quicksave?

Both ..... i dont know what the problem ...I thought it was because of the windows 7 . But I see that people are playing...

Is your user Account the default Admin, or a created 'standard' account? If standard, it's possible the account doesn't have 'permission' to write to the savegame folder

Does this folder exist: C:\Users\<USER>\Documents\My Games\Far Cry 2\Saved Games ?

If so, does it contain any files?


(And yes, FC2 works fine in 7)

i dont have this folder just "Benchmarks" and "Server" ......

Hmm.

Perhaps try running the game with elevated privileges (r-click on the shortcut, and select "Run as Administrator")

Normally, nothing special needs to be done to get this game to run so I'm a little stumped too.

The savegame folder should be created as soon as you select your character and goes through the intro etc


The fact that it isn't suggests some sort of permission error. I assume the game is patched?

Where'd you get your game from?

And yeah Far Cry 2 does work on Windows 7 (though I have the Steam version), but even my saves are where smarteyeball pointed to.

And bear in mind that the "saved games" and install directory for the game are going to be in different places. So even though the game may be in C:\Program Files (x86)\blah blah blah, the save games are going to still be in C:\Users\<USER>\Documents\My Games\Far Cry 2\Saved Games.

So if you don't have anything there (Documents\My Games\Far Cry 2\Saved Games) you may have to reinstall the game.
