Far Cry mouse issue

I installed Far Cry yesterday (the first one), the 64 bit patch and the 1.4 patch. The game loads ok except in-game the mouse doesn't work. In the menu area the mouse works fine. What could be causing this?

Try running in compatibly mode for win 98, gta vice city has a similar issue and that fixed it for me when i played vice city. Could possibly maybe do it for far cry.

You shouldn't need to run the game in compatibility mode. Anyway I suggest you uninstall, then reinstall and just patch up to the 1.3 64-bit patch and skip the 1.4. I've found that putting the 1.4 patch with the 64-bit 1.3 patch gives strange issues at times.

Did what you suggested. Now it (the mouse) works but the colours are all over the show, especially water.

Did you install all the patches up to and including the 1.3 AMD 64-bit Patch? Remember, don't install the 1.4 patch or if you did, try reinstalling the 1.3 patch over the 1.4.

Bottom line is you want to AMD 64 1.3 patch to be the last patch installed. Check this site to make sure you have all the content for the 64-bit patch - News: Far Cry AMD 64 Patches

Still no luck. Pity, its not the best game but just wandering about the island was something aia was looking forward to...

Well I don't know what else to say. It's been ages since I last installed it. However I have the base files on computer and going to the directory where the game is and clicking the 64-bit exe file the game runs and i'm able to access my saves. You could try that and see what happens.

In short, if the game installed and you have the 1.3 patch installed go to (or wherever you have the game): G:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Crytek\Far Cry\Bin64, look for the Bin 64 folder and click the FarCry.exe. This will run the 64-bit version of the game, and you won't need the CD.

If that doesn't work, I have no other suggestions other than trying another reinstall and going from there.

I have the same problem But on another harddrive I run Windows XP and it's perfectly fine.
Sadly on Windows 7 home premium 64 bit operating system it needs a better fix !
Hopefully I can find one to fix my mouse problem in windows 7 because I love this game I run everything with a Nvidia 240GT DDR 5 card and it looks awesome with the 16Q and full textures and all detail extremely high this game is like the best thing ever. I hope I can find a fix Let me now if anything works for you. So far I'm in the same bind as you are.

Me to man I got the same problem but wow this game at high rez all eye candy on and sick fun gameplay on realistic is insane and top fun worth the fix!
I put it on 16Q and Texture extreme high and in my option 16x Anistophy
WOW at HD Video just wow! You will love it.
