Solved Fast Transfer of Data Between 2 Computers?

I need to transfer about 100 gb of data from my desktop (Win 7) to my notebook (Win 8). They connect via wifi but that would take forever. Is there a faster way to do this? Can I connect them via USB somehow?

Do you have a portable hard drive such as a "WD My Passport" (or any other similar device by any other manufacturer)?
