Fatal Hardware Error - Bugcheck 0x00000124

To help clear the fog from my 3 brain cells, please explain what caused the problem and what solved the problem.

Not 100% sure what caused the problem.

Things have stabilised since the chkdsk though.

Though looking through the event viewer I had 2 errors since but not bad enough to hang the machine.

Event ID 4101 Warning: Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered.

Marking event unsolved for now.

I'm thinking next step would be to totally remove the nVidia driver again and try and install an older version?
