Fesh Install Windows 7 & SP1 ready to download straight after boot up
Hi there,
I got a new pc about a month ago and have had so many problems getting windows 7 installed and updated with SP1 and the updates that follow SP1.
My windows disk is about 6 years old so pre Service Pack 1.
I installed windows fresh this morning and when I loaded into the desktop and went to windows update amount the 40 important updates was SP1.
I installed all the important updates and optional updates except for service pack 1 rebooted and then there were some more updates available so installed them aswell then I clicked to install Service Pack 1. Its file size was on 13mb so installed it which installed successfully then went back into updates and another service pack update was available of a bigger size so I installed this. I was then prompted to restart my computer and between the shutdown and loading back into windows it configured the service pack.
Now it's showing installed but it only took no more than 5 minutes to install as I have windows on a SSD drive.
Now the other day I tried to install the following 147 important updates post installing service pack 1 and it said updates installed successfully then prompted me to restart pc and when loaded back into desktop a popup message in the system tray said windows failed to install updates.
Is 147 updates to many to try installing all at once?
Can I please have some help as getting very frustrated having to continually reinstall windows.
Thanks
