Hello All...

Please forgive me if this is a blatantly obvious question but I am learning.

Can I associate .pdf files that I try to open from within windows 7 to my .pdf software that is installed within windows xp mode? What I would like is to have my .pdf files open automatically when I click on them from in windows 7.

The only way that I can open the .pdf files right now is by opening the .pdf software ( which is installed in windows XP mode) and then navigating to the .pdf file location.

Thank-you for any helpful replies.

Hi Orlando,

You should be able to set your XP Mode PDF software as default by right-clicking the PDF file in Windows 7, selecting "Choose default program...", clicking "Browse..." in the dialog box, then navigating to the executable. Let me know if that helps.

Thank-you for your reply WalkerA WinTeam.

When I attampt to navigate to the executable, I am unable to locate it from within windows 7. Where should I look for it since this software/executable is installed in windows XP mode?

I assumed since the XP Mode programs are accessible through Start Menu > All Programs > Windows Virtual PC > Windows XP Mode Applications, that they would be selectable in the 'Choose default program' dialog (I have Home Premium so I couldn't test it for you). But it looks like I was mistaken. Hopefully someone else has a better idea of whether this would work...
