I have a NAS server setup with several directories, NOT PARTITIONS, and when I try to move a batch of files from 1 dir. to another, it just crawls at a snails pace. If I do the exact same thing from an XP box, it just flies.

I had 7 gigs of files I tried moving with Windows 7 and it was going to take over 4 hrs. I went to my XP machine and moved the exact same files and it took less the 90 seconds.

This is exactly the same issue that Vista had.:(

I am using Windows 7 Ultimate RTM (MSDN). Fully legal.

Anyone have a clue as to fix this?

I hated Vista andother than this issue, so far I really like Win 7.

Try RichCopy or KillCopy. Google should get links. Both are free.

Did it always do it or did the problem just pop up? If the latter, it's probably a windows "fix" that fixed it. If I have a system that works well, I don't let them put any "fixes" on it. If it ain't broke...

I'm running W7 7077 and I never experiences any of that. Vista 32 bit before SP1 acted like that. I can't put SP1 on my 32 bit Vista so I'm running W7 on that machine. On that machine and my Vista64 SP1 unless I'm copying thousands of files I just use the Explorer shell drag & drop. Didn't even put TeraCopy on W7 machine. That's one reason I suspect a fix problem.
