Solved File Explorer WILL NOT open folders in the same window whatsoever.

Hello all, File Explorer on Windows 10 Home will not allow me to open folders in the same window at all. I have scoured the internet and tried registry fixes, command line fixes, dll fixes, did a repair install of windows and just finished a system restore all with no help. Any ideas?

Open each Folder in the Same or Own Separate New Window

Hello Brink, good to see you're still around. You don't know it but you've helped with a lot of stuff in the past. And yes, I have tried that.

Odd. Give an example of where and how you're opening the folder to see if anything may stand out.

WIn+E keys or directly onto explorer.exe it doesn't seem to matter. Wherever I open it I have the same issue. I have it opening to MYPC as I removed the "Quick Access." When I click on a windows LIBRARY folder (Documents, Music, etc) it opens as it should. But any other folders, anywhere, opens a new window. Even on my NAS and MegaSync folder. Now it works correctly only when I right click a folder and select "Open" from the Context Menu. It's really p*ssing me off.

As a test, undo the action you used to remove Quick Access to see if this may be a side effect from removing it.

Thanks but I tried that and it didn't work. After much searching until the early hours of Labor Day! I found an OpenSource app called WinSetView. It's [FONT=&quot]a PowerShell script (PS1) that takes only a single parameter – path to the INI file containing all the values for setting the folder view. The parameter can also be path to the REG file if you want to restore the values to the ones in the REG file. It's extremely simple to use and worked immediately! You can set Explorer views Globally (which is what I did) or set specific views for the Libraries as well. FIXED! I can't thank you enough Brink, I appreciate the assistance.
