I am the only home user. I am the administrator. As for re-naming the file this is a new file and should not need to be renamed.

SAVE AS -> File permission error.

It doesn't matter if you are the Administrator or have the Administrator account. Word might need elevated privilege to write to that USB drive. For that, you would need to right click on Word and choose "Run as Administrator."
