The only files that really should deleted from AppData are the folders of programs that are no longer installed on your computer. The AppData folder generally doesn't take up very much room unless you are a program junky like me (I have only 99 and yes, I use them all at least once in a blue moon); even with as many programs as I have, my AppData folder is just under 1GB.

Assuming the 80GB drive you listed in your specs is your C drive, you may have issues other than the AppData folder causing the crowding. All that should be on that drive are programs and the OS. That's all I have on my C drive and it's only 56GB, which is actually quite high because I have a huge hyberfil.sys file (24GB) due to having 32GB of RAM (I can't reduce it or disable hibernation since my UPS uses hibernation to shut down my computer without loss of data in the advent of a power failure; if anything, I may someday need to increase it), and I could safely fit the contents of my C drive onto yours, albeit just barely (I'm assuming your C drive is a SSD; SSDs need at least 20-25% free space at all times to work most efficiently and reduce life shortening writes).

We need more information to be able to help you, such as what all do you have on your C drive?

Thank you for you response Lady Fitzgerald. Unfortunately my C: is partitioned & drive is only using 30GB & AppData is using 5GB of space. Total size of the drive is 500 GB (my whole goal was to prevent this from happening. I figured 30GB would be enough to just hold my programs/apps but i didn't know enough at the time.), my Windows folder is also taking up 16.5GB (Sheesh!!!). I noticed that the folder taking much of the space in AppData folder is the "Apple Computer" folder (iTunes). I read that this fold can be moved, is that possible without causing any problems with the app? & is there a way I can reduce the windows folder by deleting? THANKS!

Hope this helps.:)

PS:I'm surprised your folder size is still under 1GB (your good!)

You would be better off increasing the size of the C partition.

What is the 80GB drive and what are you using it for?
