Firefox 3.7 GUI Redesign for Windows 7, Vista and XP

Mozilla plans to redesign the graphical user interface of future versions of its open source browser for the Windows operating system. In fact, the initial themes for the Windows theme revamping have already been published, are available via Mozilla Wiki, and are included at the bottom of this article. According to Mozilla, the GUI overhaul is planned for Firefox version 3.7. At this point in time, users can download Firefox 3.5, which has been made available at the end of June, 2009. No telling yet just where Firefox 3.7 fits into Mozilla's plans moving forward. The mockups involve the GUI on the various releases of the Windows client, including Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP.

i think M$ should annex the mozilla foundation. i say annex cos if they bought em out instead they'd screw it up.

Firefox 3.5 + has glass implemented you just need to apply it, so technically you don't need glasser. The only advantage glasser will give you is ease of use since you do not have to alter the css yourself.

Wouldn't recommend it though, as 3.5 had a security issue with it.

Actually, only seemed quirky right after I upgraded it. Running smoothly now. Although, I've witnessed a few bugs here and there but only once on a long while. Like the message box will sometimes show w/ no right side boarder and extend past the page and sometimes I click on a page and am zapped to some page I didn't select.

For You Firefox Fans Here is some exciting news...

Mozilla's http://www.neowin.net/news/software/09/07/20/first-firefox-37-redesign-screenshots-released#popular Firefox browser is on the up and up; with version 3.5 recently released, it's making very good progress, and now, the organization has revealed some concepts for a redesign they plan to be included in version 3.7.

Firstly, we should note that these new designs are purely ideas, and they'll only be re-making the Windows versions, so put your excited faces away, Mac and Linux users. According to the official wiki that we linked above, here are Mozilla's planned new improvements:

1. Embracing Glass: Toolbar and Tabs using Glass. Buttons translucent and slightly glossy to meld with the toolbar. Raised 3D lookachieve tactile "feel".

2. Page Button: Connect the Page button to the left side of the tab area. Directly connected to the Page.

3. Tools/Bookmark Bar: Connecting the Tools button to the side of the window to emphasize the fact that it is used for customizing and changing the UI. Adding a button next to that to toggle the Bookmarks bar which is turned off by default.

Funny thing is, the people that made chrome work for mozilla. So it is only natural mozilla would use what chrome has.
