If you are a Firefox user you might not want to use any version past Firefox 24, In Firefox 25 or 26 Mozilla is going to ruin the UI by using a clone of Chrome's UI called Australis . Not only is this fugly it will not be customizable.

I guess when the bulk of your funding comes from Google Mozilla has to obey.

Australis is the name for the new design of Firefox's interface, currently in development. The proposed design will mean future versions of Firefox will be less customizable, which for many years has been one of it's more popular features.

The new design is looking much more minimal. This follows the lead of Google Chrome, which has been eating into the markets of other browsers using simplicity and speed, while not offering the customization options of Firefox.

The proposed new Australis interface is in very early stages, and currently very much under discussion. Here are the current proposed changes:

Join the Stop and Reload buttons into a single button for customizing, like the back/forward buttons.
Prevent back, forward, url bar, stop and reload buttons from leaving the nav-bar or overflowing out of view, while still allowing them to be re-ordered.
Remove the ability to hide the Navigation Toolbar.
Toolbars that are collapsed will not be visible while customizing.
Remove the add-on bar from the core product.
Remove primary UI for adding custom toolbars.

I will use IE 11 before this thing. Doesn't look too much like Chrome does it??

It is even worse.. You can also not put anymore the urlbar element in front of the tab bar, like i used to have it in the past.

And the Add-on Bar was killed already in the UX Builds, so this will also be at Nightly, Aurora, Beta and Stable Builds.

And various Options will disappear from the options menu. Oh, and the newest news, Before Australis even is launched.. Click to Play was ruined and the patches used in Bugzilla will perhaps even have consequences for the No-Script Add-on Creator and Add-On Creators which allow blocking Scripts and Flash Stuff.

May i also recommend Midori and Qupzilla, Webkit Browsers which will have MORE In-Browser-Customization options after Australis hits once stable? :D

I at least switched to that 2 above.

Anyway, Mozilla should no more be supported... They have become just Google Servants, and i hate that fact...

I will stay with 23 or 24 and that is it. I use Palemoon 64 bit as a secondary Browser.

Also a good choice :) I also planned something like that in the start, but since with a move like that i still would support Mozilla in an indirect way and it is no sure if Palemoon will REALLY be able to avoid Australis i switched to Gecko's Archenemy Webkit, and i am quite happy, since i never cared much about themes and add-ons this move was the best i was able to do :D

I can't stand change for its own sake. This is a fail. If I wanted to use Chrome - and I don't - I'd download and install Chrome.
Idiots are digging their own graves.
