There seems to be a lot of customizations available for Firefox...most of which I have yet to explore, but there are some differences between FF and Opera that I really miss. At the moment, I'm looking for a way to do a mouse flip, which is a means of either going back or forward within the pages of a website. When I Googled for this, I found Fox Tabs, which has something that they call mouse flip, but it was only for moving between tabs, not pages. Can what I want be done?

You can try this;

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/firegestures/

Takes a moment to get used to, but once you do you wont want to miss it.

This will do more or less what you want I think;

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/neo-diggler/

This is useful too;

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/locationbar%C2%B2/

and this is a "Must Have";

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/fastestfox-browse-faster/

Just in case you find it useful, here is a dump of the addons I currently use in Firefox 4.0, all extensively tested;

Sure with the right mouse and driver. Whats yours?

It shouldn't matter which mouse that I have, but it is a Logitech Cordless Trackball Wheel mouse. In Opera, you simply use the right or left mouse button, while the other button is held down. It does not require any special mouse buttons to perform.

I will admit than I went through those links pretty quickly, but from what I saw, the first two offered alternatives to mouse flip, but not in the fashion that I'm looking for. The latter two appeared to be for other functions and purposes than what I asked for, but I will consider them. EDIT: Sheesh! your list of links was longer than I realized. I seriously doubt that all of those pertain to my question.

Also, of the addons I posted, one of the most useful is "Tab Mix Plus", the settings are important, because you can simply "hover" on a tab to select it. This saves an awful lot of clicking!

Here are the settings I use;

I seriously doubt that all of those pertain to my question.[/QUOTE]

No, I was just hoping to save you some time sorting and testing various addons. You might not want some of them.

Doesn't make any difference at all to Firefox speed by the way, even if you load all of them. I have had 114 addons running without any noticeable difference.

Something else that I have found that annoys me no end, while posting this thread, is that Firefox seems to ignore my paragraphs. I double space for a new paragraph and when I post, they are run together into one big one. How do I fix that?

I don't think that has anything to do with Firefox.

Has to do with the site editor if anything.

Here I hit <Enter> a few times.

Here I hit <Enter> once.

I have no idea of what you mean by site editor, all that I know is that unlike it works for you, it is not spacing paragraphs as it should. The only two things that I have changed are adding Speed Dial which shouldn't have anything to do with it, and NoScripts, which I'm beginning to think is the culprit. If it is, how is that rectified? Does it mean that I must enable scripts on any page that I'm posting on?

The "Site Editor" is the editor that pops up when you post.

Yes. I stopped using NoScript, it caused me a lot of problems, But you can set it to allow trusted sites;

QUOTE
You can enable JavaScript, Java and plugin execution for sites you trust with a simple left-click on the NoScript status bar icon (look at the picture), or using the contextual menu, for easier operation in popup statusbar-less windows.

Okay, as a test, I have disabled noscripts, so we shall see if it is the problem. If so, there will be a space between these lines. EDIT: Apparently not, there is some other problem.

After the last post, I noticed that the noscript bar at the bottom of the browser was still displayed, even though I had disabled noscripts, so I will test again, with it set to allow all scripts on this page.

EDIT: That is it, I guess that the only solution is for me to uninstall it entirely, because I'm not inclined to contend with it on every page that I deal with.

I went into FF's extensions and selected to remove noscript, but even after closing the tab on this forum and reopening it, it still displays the noscript bar at the bottom. How do I get rid of it once and for all?

Right, I thought of that after posting. I restarted FF and it is now gone. Thanks.

EDIT: I discovered that noscript was the cause for another problem on this forum. With it enabled, I was not able to access the dropdown menu on Quick Links, it simply added a couple of extra buttons on the UI, but none which would allow me to select to view my posts or threads that I had posted in.

Noscript is not a feature, it is a giant bug.
